Quite an interesting concept for a strategy game - an almost endless game, just like Life. I absolutely love everything about it. My only possible qualm is that being dropped into the full scale conflict is somewhat daunting at first - but that doesn't detract from what this is.
The inspiration is obvious, but still minor, the originality of this project is great. Rest in piece Mr. Conway - may your Game of Life inspire many more of us, for much longer than you have.
You did well! Though, there are just a few design issues such as the placement of the hero indicator, and the obviousness of the damaging projectiles, that make it a little frustrating at first
Definitely an extremely well made entry! polished, beautiful, and tight. I have nothing negative to say about this, my only qualms are that: 1. it becomes somewhat hard to understand the information about the asteroids as their number increases, so it can be hard to know what to prioritise 2. pressing a single button to switch shields is a bit taxing, especially when there are 5 of them~
Though, both of these could be intentional design choices, and they don't detract from the game.
