LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

S.I.L. by Skruffye 2015-12-17T05:50:00

This game... was so... friggin... TERRIBLE..-ly FUCKING AWESOME. Like sure it was a massive downer that there was little sound, or that I couldn't skip the cutscene after I've seen it, but just this game is SO COOL. I love the aesthetic and would love to see this made into a full fledged game! You should add a tip to play in fullscreen for FULL immersion. Playing this game in fullscreen makes you feel like a hacker and it's just fantastic! The way the console is designed and the UI is just so clean and uncluttered. Beautiful. I imagine a full version would read keyboard input and allow you to give the computer several commands and explore the story even more, which on another note is soo interesting. You guys are awesome.

Just played the game and had a blast! I loved the humour, I think I died a little inside when I let that guy poke me and "Shame" popped up in my inventory XD and the music was great actually! It fit the mood of the game completely. The only real suggestion I could add is maybe have a double tap to speed up travel time a tiny bit so you don't get lost as easily. I spent a few minutes searching for the forest haha, but it was great! I loved the inflation mechanic!

This game is so creative! I actually really like the combat system! It's really intuitive. Do you have a downloadable version? I'd love to learn some things from it. *claps* the only real suggestion is maybe change the controls. Maybe "A" and "L" or maybe "A" and Left_click to make it more ergonomic. Other than that the game takes a lot of skill to play and is actually viable. If you haven't already, check out a game called DiveKick! It reminds me a lot of yours :D

Max Force And The Cave Of Dankness by Vavassor 2015-12-14T06:53:00

Sad to see that it wasn't finished, in time, the concept looks pretty cool and I like the art/animation. Hopefully, at some point you can finish it, here's some bugs I found while playing with the engine in case you want to improve it;
-Controls are a bit sticky. You can't change your jump arc mid air if you're going forward so you're kinda putting a wedding ring on it when you hit that button. This makes it kind of difficult to navigate the platforms.
-You can however change it if you run forward and jump, then quickly change directions backwards and you can get up platforms that way.

Hey, great game! It was a bit confusing at first, I didn't really know if I was holding the button right or if my keyboard was working, but once I got the controls down, it was great! I played for like a half-hour haha. I could see this being a great mobile game if you decide to expand upon it 4/5*

Parascythe X by Neonlare 2015-12-17T06:00:00

Awesome music. Awesome art. Awesome gameplay, and amazing music. Only real complaint I have is a it's a weee bit difficult to distinct the bullets from the background color since the bullets are gold and the background is a blue and their saturations are very close. Other than that, this game is just a job Well done guys :D

Growth Industries by SteveSalmond 2015-12-16T10:25:00

This game was SICK. I gave it 5/5, I got all the way to level 6 B) I would LOVE for this to be a full game. With the wages being usable for like upgrades of some sort. Or maybe adding a kinda of sci fi story element where you're a new worker in this facility and the story starts giving all these thought provoking questions like he said in the beginning of level 6; Do you ever think why we grow these people? #justathought :D

Thanks! I tried out your game and I liked your idea as well and the way you implemented the RPG elements! And thanks for pointing out those bugs. I crushed some bugs today, so hopefully that's all fixed now :D

@Nizan oh! sorry about that, I forgot to update the objective after I did some bug fixes ha ha my bad. I spent so long on the systems I didn't have time to implement a system where you could actually *WIN so I added the "spawner" as a somewhat placeholder win condition. I didn't want to "add" anything per se, so I just added a condition where it would go to the next room if you survived a set amount of seconds. That's why it says in the top left now "Quest: Survive" (;w;) lol. As for the enemies, they ARE a bit difficult early in the game because it's a balancing issue. If they're too easy in the beginning you'll just snowball and wreck everything's face and challenge goes *POOF* haha. The delay on spells is completely intentional as well, if you notice some spells cast a lot faster than others :D

@peyj thanks for the tip! I didn't know that before, I just added it in and hopefully it'll run now!

@candlesan & @ YinYin, can I have your specs? What's your window resolution, Windows version?

GLYPH by JaCkJoKeZ 2015-12-18T10:35:00

@Skruffye thanks for the specs! It took me a couple of hours, and I had to run the game in a virtual box, but so far it's up and running again! Thanks for the information and feedback you guys, it's really helpful in improving my game :D

@Hackbug thanks!

I apologize for the bugs, I completely revamped the game and was forced to upload a Post-Ludum-Dare version on GameJolt which is now linked to the Windows link. For my first Ludum Dare, I gotta say I was overly ambitious, but at least now the build is stable after about a month. Sorry for the delay, but you guys can follow development on the site. Thanks so much for trying it out and your contribution!
