LD55 — Summoning

Summoner's Sentinels by Soul Grinder 2024-04-15T21:05:33Z

First person tower defense with summoned allies is a cool concept, but the current version doesn't have much strategy other than alternate blue and red summons. Right now it almost feels more like a puzzle game. The sprites and music were nice.

Butler! Summon the Imps! by jummbus 2024-04-20T03:13:04Z

I love this idea so much! The art and story are lovely, and it really nails the theme of summoning new problems to solve old problems.

The Witch's Dungeon by Wadlo 2024-04-15T20:50:08Z

I like the idea! Playing as enemies is fun, thematic, and a good reuse of assets. The dungeon generation was also interesting. The aiming feeling a bit off was the most noticeable bug, so fixing that and making the enemies feel more unique would be great improvements to make.

Very fun to angle shots around your totems, and the way it gets more intense near the end is great! I also think accidentally destroying my own totem with a fireball and dooming the world in the first second of gameplay was very unintentionally funny.

Burger Ritual by meylish 2024-04-15T21:32:07Z

Very fun concept! The art and sound were really good, and having a tutorial like that for a jam is great. Nicely polished other than the scrolls summoning dozens of ratburgers for a single click, but that's funny and pretty thematic anyway. Having a more intricate process for summoning ingredients would have made it more fun but I can see why you'd keep that part simple for now, great work overall!

TANKZ by Funday Games 2024-04-15T21:20:49Z

It's a fun tower defense game, and I like the idea of the player directly controlling the strongest part of the defense. The short timer between waves and the player having to actually drive to where they want to create towers meant that later on I wasn't able to actually plan much, and I feel like it discourages the player from using more than a couple towers. Overall it also feels more like building than summoning in regards to the theme, but it's still a good idea (the tank upgrades between waves was fun to see even if the UI for selecting them wasn't working when I tried it).
