This looks like a fun game, but I have no idea how I should run it? In the assets I downloaded, there's some json and meta files. You write it's C#, so I'm guessing I should compile it somehow? What am I missing?

I like this game. I don't care all that much for slick graphics and sound, and thus wasn't bothered by it not having that. Although reading the comments, it seems I actually missed something when it comes to sound; when I reached the end I just heard a weird series of clicks that vaguely sounded like an applause, certainly not something that can be described as a "victory theme"... Maybe my browser (Firefox) was not making the same sounds as the other players heard.

Anyway, nice game, great job!

@fabdynamic You probably need to install the libsdl2-image-dev package (that's what it's called in Debian, may be slightly differently named on other distributions).

I downloaded the code from github and (after installing the sdl2 and sdl2-image packages) got it to start building. But it tried to link libSDL2_Image, which was named libSDL2_image (no capital i) on my system. After that change, it runs.

I like the idea of the game; I also immediately thought of radioactivity with this theme. I didn't get very far with it though, because it seemed to be quite unstable (which is great for the theme, but not so much for playability ;-) ) For example, forgetting to add a number to a command made it crash. It would also have helped if there were coordinates on screen.

But don't get me wrong: it's a cool idea and it's great that you got it finished in time! That's something to be proud of. :-)

Nice work on making this game. It wasn't entirely clear what I needed to do, but the comments here helped. :-) I like the concept, but it probably needs some more work to be really fun to play. Which I would expect from a compo game, really. Great work on getting it finished in time.

I'm using Linux, which means I had to run it in the browser. Looks like that was the recommended way anyway. It was quite a hassle to get it running, but eventually it did. It took me a while to figure out what I should be doing. Once I did, I liked it. Well done given the limited time of the event. If you're gong to work more on it, I'd suggest to start with some kind of scoring system. I got bored pretty soon because it didn't look like anything was going to change. If there was a score, I would give me more of a goal to keep me interested longer.

Overall, good job and well done that it got finished.

It's a nice game, but unfortunately I got stuck on a ladder and had to quit. So you might say it's a bit unstable. ;-) The graphics is good, but not really my taste. I definitely liked the idea though, and it was vary appropriate for the theme. Well done!

ARCHamster JoJonson's Bizzare Adventure: Unstable Crusade by AreyWarlord 2021-10-05T09:08:18Z ♥ 4

I liked this game. The mini-games were a bit too simple (except for the "hold button when the light is green"), but that can be expected for the limited time that was available. I particularly liked the detail that as you start losing you mind, you also start to roll with the ball instead of running in it. The sound effects were good, especially because the different alarms had different sounds, so I didn't need to check the terminal to see where I needed to go.
