LD46 — Keep it alive

That's Crazy, What? by commanderstitch 2020-04-20T06:00:34Z

I enjoyed it a lot! The wacky nature of it was the biggest draw, definitely. Kudos on the remapping, that takes a lot of time. I kinda wish the cart was easier to interact with, having to click on it, when it's so small, was difficult against hordes of enemies.

For the king! by OfirMa85 2020-04-20T05:09:08Z

This was a pretty fun game! I felt like I was doing pretty well, then I remembered I was playing on easy, haha. The explosion effect and the snow particle were both really well-drawn, I loved looking at them. I wish I'd been able to place towers faster maybe via the number keys, as well as being able to place towers on top of already-existing towers.

This was super cool! With a solid gameplay base, you had a ton of time to do some very solid polish work. Of special note are the intro and end screens, I think they're very clean and effective at communicating their information in a fun, novel way.

In A Game Wherein by SSStormy 2020-04-20T06:42:00Z

What is or isn't a game is an argument which could go on forever. In the end, I think it's a subjective experience, where each person draws their lines. I think this is a game, and while I enjoyed the intentionally-stripped mechanics, obviously the biggest draw was the writing.

I think some choices could be neat, to open up a branching setup for the player. If you wanted to really sell the work's argument that we're just going through the motions, swapping one narrative theme for another while using very similar mechanics, you could have the player select which game they want to play, letting them discover in realtime how similar they are, and more directly paralleling their life outside the game.

This is pretty solid! I love Exit door as a bit, that was seriously well done for just a joke ending. There's a small bug with height-gain that'd probably need to be sorted out if you were to continue with this project, but hey, that's the nature of it.

Hacker Boy by Connor0Wolf 2020-04-21T01:47:15Z

I dig a lot of what's going on here. This game oozes style and charm in all of the details. The presentation is slick, the sound design all immediately evokes the feeling of early 2000's computing, and every single bit of legible text is fun to read. It takes a minute to fully understand the loop of checking the router while managing stuff, but it's a satisfying system.

If I was gonna change one thing, I'd make the windows dragable around the screen. It's intentional to the game's difficulty that some things can't both be open/used at once, but it just feels a bit artificial.

The wide array of minigames in place here is very solid. I thought it was just the email stuff at first, and then started noticing more and more. I'm not sure how many exist total, but it was a fun discovery each time. Also, the SFX for some of the failures states were incredible.

High Score: 1450

I didn't play past the first month, but this is something to be proud of. The mechanics are simple but effective, and it ramps up fairly well, once you understand how to get maximum ad revenue.

Your conveyance is fantastic. Since there's so little time, it's easy for teaching the player to become an afterthought, but your tutorial UI, popups, and various text are very, very helpful.

Hey guys! Thank you all for playing so far! The audio is definitely meant to be a disorienting experience, but I understand it might be a bit much. From the menu, you can go into modifications and disable "Voices" to keep them silent.

PRO DVD PLAYER by Brian Teng 2020-04-20T07:17:36Z

This game is terrifying. Like, "I muted the game, lowered my laptop screen, and got up to turn the lights on" terrifying. I love how you took such a simple setup and set the mood incredibly. The audio, the CRT effects, even the old font, it all just feels so perfectly eerie.

I would normally complain about a lack of menus, but the game is so singularly focused and well-presented in the few instructions you need that I think it's to your benefit. A menu would just drag the player out of the experience.

...And I just now realized how well the theme's integrated here. Outstanding stuff.

Sourdough Starter Kit by Edearth 2020-04-20T18:00:58Z

I had a great time, even if I didn't make bread. It was very difficult to manipulate the containers which was very funny, due to the feeling that it'd been intentionally designed to be difficult.
