LD57 — Depths

Depths: From the Crust to the Core by kr4ft3r 2025-04-12T14:52:09Z

Very nice! It reminds me of the educational Flash games my middle (and occasionally high) school would have us play to "get the kids into science." Nice little nostalgia trip, and unlike back then I actually learned something! I like that you committed to keeping things to scale with the endless scroll also, nice visualizer.

Cave Glider by detectiveLosos 2025-04-08T17:39:31Z

I'm being entirely serious when I say I had a lot of fun gliding like a beautiful bird and then PLONKing into sudden obstacles around the bend. Might just be me but the map (esp the blockiness) and the overall game design reminds me a lot of Terra Swoop Force. I also liked having multiple options of gliders!

A Quest To Bear by Fis 2025-04-08T17:30:57Z

This is such an adorable game! The level design reminds me a bit of the mines in Stardew. I especially liked the collision/interaction mechanic for getting around the levels - really smart idea, I was impressed.

Descent Protocol by fingolfin 2025-04-08T17:44:37Z

Like some of the others it took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to be doing, but I enjoyed the graphics and the overall drill concept. Also, that music was awesome, if I had that blasting in my subterranean drill while I worked I'd be having a great time lol.

Onerous Orbits by Ian McD 2025-04-08T17:25:23Z

Super fun! The graphics look really nice (I love the little keyboard UI), and the entire concept was fun to play around with. Took me a second to get the hang of things (esp with rotation), but that process was enjoyable too.

Deep Underground by Thrawn911 2025-04-09T23:18:26Z

Guys I'm not sure why but I think Anomaly Group may not be developing games and that might be a cover-up.

On a serious note, very cool little atmospheric game. The graphics and overall claustrophobia created a really good vibe, though I have to agree with other commenters that some of the noises were pretty earsplitting. The water droplets were nice though. Had me tensing and ready for anything the further down I went, even before the other noises began!

A Strike In The Dark by Mateu 2025-04-09T02:11:49Z

Mirinae above recommended this game and wow she was right, this is awesome. The graphics are fun yet slick, the story is cute, the physics mechanics are so fun to play around with while remaining intuitive... pat yourselves on the back.

Duplo by CrozzY 2025-04-12T14:58:18Z

My comment is going to be pretty similar to the others - beautiful art, unintuitive controls - but hey, it's a jam, you can't figure out everything from the get-go! I appreciated the attempt to try something different. I liked the ticking down of the resources, really added some challenge to the game. I hope you decide to take this further!

Dungeons Below by oopsvincent 2025-04-12T15:05:57Z

Congrats on your progress from a fellow first-timer in LD! I see a lot of potential here - the concept is interesting, especially the narrative you implied in your blurb on itch. I agree with some of the others about the combat being a bit clunky (there were times I'd ram right into the mass of enemies and take little-to-no damage), but again, it's a jam, it's rarely going to be pristine and the point is getting experience. I liked the music choice, added to the slightly ominous atmosphere of being stuck in a dungeon. Give yourself a pat on the back!
