LD54 — Limited Space

Seagull Island | L'île aux Goélands by Seb_degraff 2023-10-03T21:15:04Z

Wow, I am blown away! I think I enjoyed this game a little too much. I played it for half an hour straight and never got tired of the graphics, gameplay or music. That is a great achievement! The game was very intuitive to learn, and after a couple of tries, I got kinda good at it. I could see myself kicking back after a long day at work playing this game. Some VERY nitpicky problems I found were that you couldn't really place anything behind the restart button (well, I mean, it limited the space even more, so it fit the theme XD ). Also, there were a couple of times when I could've gone on if the screen had moved up. It would make for some crazy builds, but I understand that you probably prioritized more important aspects of the game in that short timeframe. But besides these points, I have no complaints. It's just an absolute banger of a game!

Oh and here is my high score, I know we can go further: Screenshot 2023-10-03 230152.png

Winds Of Pilgrimage by Medow 2023-10-03T08:01:46Z

I loved to play this game. I couldn't stop and would seriously consider buying it if it popped up on Steam. Everything felt harmonic. The atmosphere is great, and I love the puzzles. They kept me engaged the whole time. They were adequately challenging. I got stuck on one of them, and @Noirox and I felt like it was impossible to solve. I am uploading this review on the next morning and I am happy to know that the Problem is fixed (Now I HAVE to play it again :D). I still completed the game through some trial and error. The sound of a completed puzzle gave me an ungodly dopamine rush. Some negatives included the fact that the bushes created a lot of visual clutter. It made the game look grainy, and made it hard to look at, especially when turning the camera. The big map and the ability to turn the camera made me feel very disoriented (Minimap would be cool, but I know that it is a lot to ask for a GameJam). Usually, I would just follow the beams back to the central pillar and proceed from there. I also thought that with the very expansive map, the theme of LD54 was not really fulfilled. Tbh I didn´t care too much because the game was just that good. But besides these points, I would love to see a full version of this game! I am wishing you all the best and crossing my fingers for a lot of positive reviews for you! <3

Cache Me If You Can by Auros 2023-10-04T18:02:26Z

I love DOOM, and I got soooo excited when I found this game. The theme doesn't really fit, but I don't mind it at all. I just loved being thrown into combat, bunny-hopping around and blazing my way through countless enemies. Seeing numbers go up in endless games just makes me want to play more and beat my high score. You really made my day with this game.

Paper Pile Panic by Stellar Lily 2023-10-02T23:22:55Z

I had a blast playing this game. The atmosphere was great, and the art style really immersed me in the office setting. Filling out pointless forms really made me feel like an intern. I also loved the mechanic of needing to physically drag the papers to the bin, making it sometimes difficult to manage all the incoming papers while moving the old ones. I also found a bug that I thought was quite amusing. If you clip a paper between the paper bin and the coffee mug, the paper will go flying. If you manage to click the paper in mid-flight, the intern will suffer a heart attack, and the camera will spin wildly until it comes to a halt on the floor. I thought this just added to the atmosphere. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the music, since it became very annoying after a while. But besides that, Paper Pile Panic is a game I could play for hours. Hope to see more next Jam!!!

Snowlord by minjutin 2023-10-04T18:51:48Z

I enjoyed playing, but it seemed like I didn't understand the dig mechanic. It seemed like tunnels would collapse at random. Could be a mine sweeper situation. The tense music when the bully charges you is just hilarious. I loved it.

I liked the Atmosphere and the Sounddesign. I struggled with the controles, since I always forgot which button does what. In the end I wrote it all down on a notepad. I got quite annoyed with the walking sound. Very cool entry and I hope to see you again next time.

I was blown away by the art and had to try it out immediately. The music was great and very atmospheric, and the design of the characters really made them stand out from each other. Each of them had a very distinct personality that was perfectly captured by the art style. The gameplay was interesting but got pretty monotonous after a while, since it didn't take all that long to find the right strategies for every customer. A bit more randomness would’ve helped to keep the gameplay fresh. Overall, this is a very solid entry, and I am looking forward to seeing more next year, hopefully.
