I dont know if it's my issue but having to click on the text window after each input, really kills the terminal vibe

yibirabbit007 2026-10-19 14:27 ♥ 0

@vokietislt Let me see how to improve the input operations. In terms of actual terminal operation, just pressing Enter has the same effect as in the game.

I need to see if I can set up a window dedicated to extra replies

Really cool entry! I played through it and had a great time. Here is a quick breakdown of my thoughts: • Gameplay & Design: The core mechanics feel solid and intuitive right from the start. The gameplay loop is engaging, and the controls feel responsive and fair. • Visuals & Art Style: The visual direction fits the overall mood really well. Everything looks cohesive, and the presentation makes it very clean to follow what's happening on screen. • Audio: The sound effects and audio design add a lot of punch to the experience and help build the atmosphere. • Theme Interpretation: You did a fantastic job incorporating the jam's theme into the core loop in a creative and clever way! Constructive Polish Idea: If you decide to update or expand this after the jam, adding a few extra feedback cues (like juice/particles or subtle screen shake) or expanding on a few mechanics could make it feel even more polished! Overall, awesome job for a jam project! Left you a high score/rating. Keep up the great work! 🚀

New Ver had been upload to the web

@anastasia-pitomets Thanks for your reply. I just updated a version, which includes the 'prompts' and guidance you mentioned, although right now it looks more like an argument between machines (XD.

Loved the mood and tone of this one! I only managed to get 2/3 endings but I really enjoyed comparing the outputs from both terminals. Awesome work!

blake-mullin 2026-10-20 03:57 ♥ 1

Great mood here, audio and sfx really put together a great experience. I love the two displays, crisp graphics and satisfying to see the messages pour in. Love the contrast of the OLD and NEW terminal messages.

@makkurataichou Thanks for playing! I think what you're missing is the final ending C, which requires you to set a date. Maybe try "Set" some day(Hide in the manual) will help.

By the way, your game have same point with the END A, I really enjoy the "mouse" to find a way into internet 👍

@blake-mullin Thanks! Old-school terminals stay true to the players 💻

It seems like there are quite a few console games; I'll have to check them out. 📺

Really cool entry! I loved the concept and the overall mood you’ve created here. The controls felt responsive and the gameplay was super engaging for a jam project. Left full ratings! If you have a few minutes, we’d love for you to check out our game Meow Bomb! 🐱💣 The official LD page has our jam release, but I also assembled an alternative updated build with fixes and a working PC: https://naiper.itch.io/meow-bomb-by-naiper

Cheers!

@nursultan Your game in itch's link wad got problem(the vote link), and I played that early before 😉

bjoernm 2026-10-20 16:35 ♥ 1

Interesting vibe. I entered some commands and was like why is it not progressing until I realised that the pop up windows don't close automatically.

givit-game-studios 2026-10-20 16:41 ♥ 1

Was wondering when the Terminal games would pop up. This was well done and I especially liked the atmosphere, even just for a simple terminal game. This was a well done game, and you got a lot done for the couple of days you had.

yibirabbit007 2026-10-20 16:49 ♥ 0

@bjoernm Thanks to the previous few points, I realized that extra explanation is needed to prevent players from crashing lol

@givit-game-studios The original plan was to create a NEW terminal with self-awareness (right now it can only chat), but unfortunately, this time I didn’t have strong teammates.

Anyway, terminal games are perfect for illustrating OLD TECH 😉 !

leandre00 2026-10-20 17:16 ♥ 1

Nice gameplay, I really like the concept of the two machines answering different stuff, the typing is nicely done, allowing for the simplest yet mos useful keyboard shortcuts, the plot is great, well done !

cupofcuppuccino 2026-10-20 17:43 ♥ 1

Always have a certain kind of love for terminals. The instructions and overall visuals are really clear and direct to read. Like the guide and manual, always useful to have them :p Good concept and tie to the theme! I enjoyed typing and chatting with the terminal, and also loved the tab complete and up arrow key to reuse my command from earlier on. Might be useful to add some typing sound effects (but programmers usually enjoy simplicity so I think it is fine as well). Thanks for the hard work, always hard to work together equally as a team.

jahuth 2026-10-20 18:29 ♥ 1

Pretty cool! I realized very late that to progress the story, I had to close/advance the popup messages (and since I entered "MANUAL" a few times on the command line, it then repeated all messages a few times 😅 ) But a very nice, creepy atmosphere!

ao-85 2026-10-20 18:50 ♥ 1

Loved the mood and tone of this one! I only managed to get 2/3 endings but I really enjoyed comparing the outputs from both terminals.

eugenik 2026-10-21 10:52 ♥ 0

The way you handled the contrast between the slow, glitchy older terminal and the new, moody system is fantastic. The entire atmosphere feels incredibly immersive, and it's fun trying to figure out the differences between the outputs.

perrarancino 2026-10-21 12:06 ♥ 1

a terminal with a mood is such a fun concept, and the idea that old replays every input before the three endings split is a really clever way to make the whole thing feel haunted. the three repair attitudes give the short game a lot of replay value too. was the delete ending always the darkest one, or did the tone shift while writing? really neat idea.

yibirabbit007 2026-10-21 12:57 ♥ 0

@leandre00 @ao-85 @eugenik Thanks for feedback! 😃

@cupofcuppuccino Audio is a bit of a weak spot this time (I really miss the teammate from last time; the audio he made was so lively!).

Of course, as you mentioned, the use of quiet contrast for a minimalist game is something I can't fully dedicate time to fine-tune (most of my time went into text design and output debugging). ❤️

Lastly, thanks for playing!

@perrarancino Deleting the ending solved all the problems (all the logs were cleared), but the records about 077 will still reappear on other devices, so, yeah.

Also, the response about the audio is the same as before. 🍷

milq 2026-10-22 07:04 ♥ 1

Nice game! The two-terminal setup is clever, catching where NEW's cheerful version contradicts OLD's output hooked me, and the green phosphor look sells 1999 perfectly. Congrats again, great work!

azahara 2026-10-22 14:22 ♥ 1

I like the idea, but I had a hard time figuring out what I was supposed to do. A few instructions would really help! I actually felt more comfortable with the old terminal... maybe it's my age haha.

yibirabbit007 2026-10-22 14:46 ♥ 1

@milq @azahara Thanks for playing! 🧀 Our ending is pretty simple: fix that pump, handle the logs, or set the date.

The old terminal always makes people feel like it's honest 😉

Of course, we're also slowly getting used to new things. Keep it up!

jezzamon 2026-10-24 23:50 ♥ 0

Hi, could you add a section saying which AI tools you used to make this?

jezzamon 2026-10-25 00:03 ♥ 0

As a player it was really not clear what I was mean to do here. I could figure out some of the commands I could run but I don't think it was clear what my options are or what paths I could take, or *why* I would take them.

Liked the premise of the game!

I can tell the UI was made by an AI (there are a few giveaways like random text in different places), would be nice to disclose that. If the UI design was primarily created by the AI then you should opt out of the "graphics" category as you didn't create the graphics yourself.

jawdan 2026-10-28 00:36 ♥ 0

Honestly found the terminal a bit too convoluted to use and not a clear enough object/command structure to follow...
