Wow art is amazing. Super good job for 3 days
i really liked the art, and production quality. well done!!
Impressive work for 3 days! Art, mood, enemies are all well done. I especial like how the game communicates to me that i always know what the enemies are doing and what i have to do. Gameplay gets repetitive fast.
Fun! the good: - graphics - The second level starting with a totally different game type was interesting. - telegraphed moves
The bad: - The controls were a little clunky. I would have preferred space to shoot but I think you avoided it so that you could have 2 player controls. - The unease-angry-panic meter was unnecessarily punishing. It made the game harder when you were already taking damage. It also persisted through respawns, making bosses impossible once you started losing. - bosses should have a checkpoint before the boss room so that you can change your weapon loadout. - some moves had bad telegraphs
This is crazy! So much content in three days, it’s amazing! I’d like to finish it, but I got stuck in a softlock — the anxiety level didn’t decrease when I respawned. And the boss turned out to be too difficult. Otherwise, it’s really cool!
@john-shen Thanks for playing! And a special thanks for taking the time to list all the pros and cons for us!
Customizable controls will definitely be added, and personally, I prefer using Space to shoot as well!
Difficulty is always tricky to balance. We're thinking about reworking the panic meter so that it's not just a punishment, but also an additional gameplay mechanic that can actually reward players in some way... (Still trying to figure out exactly how, haha!)
But yeah, difficult boss goes bye-bye! 👋 And better spawn-point is a yes yes
Holy Polish! You can put this game on steam as is and noone would know it was done for a jam! Huge congrats to the team! So much variety in the weapons, art, levels, enemies. And so many polish features, like hit stun, attack indicators, etc etc! A shop, achievements, difficulty levels, and what not! Even a whole credits sequence! Woah!
@kwetka thanks for liking our games, where were you soft-blocked?
@bentootoo I don’t remember the boss’s name exactly, but it looked like a oven. It’s the only one in the room, and it’s probably the final boss of the first location.
Super polished game! Great graphics, and the weapons' variety is awesome
Amazing level of polishing! I really like how the art style, VFX and sound design come together to set the atmosphere. They work really well together. Great job!
Marvelous pixel art!!! And it is so satisfying to long hold and shoot. Sadly don't have friends to play together with, but I think the game has great potentials!! Really like the art style and this is a game I'm willing to buy and play with friends together. Well designed!! The controls are slightly a bit too light for me. Survived for a while but then started getting hurt, then the game gets even harder. Might be better if the status can respawn at checkpoint, or start each new game quick like rogue to get a taste of more possibilities.
That’s so good! I would say the game is really ready to be released somewhere on Steam! That’s an enormous amount of work for 3 days! Everything has its own feel and is sooo polished!
A truly wonderful game! \ I really enjoyed the first level. \ When I died multiple times on the first big boss I had to restart with lower difficulty though. \ I'm really impressed with the scope of the game. \ I also wonder if all of the weapons actually can provide similar DPS or some of them really not recommended on higher difficulties? Tbh I just got a bit resistant to experimenting with other weapons after deadlocking on the first boss. \
My journey finished on this screen. And I'm not sure if that's a bug, an intended end of a game, or that I'm missing something important in this room. I'd be happy to know :) Screenshot_1.png
Overall you guys nailed the mood with sound, visuals and variety of content!
Great game, I love the graphics and the audio is all great. I like the concept of your life being in the lantern so you can keep your hitbox separate from you, although I didn't really use it much. The gameplay reminds me a bit of Deadcells with the shop/mutations between rounds and the weapon swap stuff. Overall it was really fun and I find it incredible how much you got done in so little time, it feels like a full complete game. I did have to switch to easy mode to get through it though, I couldn't get passed The Stroker on Normal mode haha. Oh yeah and that's one other thing, I really like the enemy designs, both graphic-wise but also concept wise with their descriptions, like The Stroker storing memories, the next boss storing voices, etc, really cool.
Wow, this is really polished. There is a huge amount of content and the pixel art looks really nice. I think it can become a little repetitive, but it seems like a good game that is very professionally developed. Well done!

Thank you all for playing and enjoying our game! Oscar did all the art design in the team and we couldn't achieve this without him. We hope to address the repetitiveness by adding more variety in music, weapons, and powerful upgrades!
@eoshadows Let's just say we found the perfect balance between human creativity and digital tools! Oscar, our artist, did an incredible amount of work, and Mumu used various tools to create additional sprites based on Oscar's original designs. That's how we managed to create this much in 3 days.
I'm glad you liked our description, haha! We actually put quite a lot of effort into making the text interesting before launch.
But as they always say...
**This is just the beginning, hehehehe!**
@moondweller Congrats! You've reached the end of the demo! (I think, haha)
Weapons should generally be balanced based on their DPS. However, I personally believe that games with a variety of weapons, whether they're roguelikes or demos like this one, can absolutely have some **overpowered weapons** that are rare to obtain!
That way, players can feel the excitement of discovering something incredibly powerful while exploring the weapon system.
But there shouldn't be any truly bad weapons.
What an absolute beast of a game!!! The amount of content for a jam is insane! And the sound effects... perfect. For me, the first boss was harder than the rest, but all in all, this can just be put in a store. Could be this edition's winner.
@braulio-jg heart-warming and encouraging, thank you for your feed back, this means a lot for us
A cool, fun game. It was awesome to play. But shooting with the C key while constantly having to move around - that's tough.
