Thanks, Mackain! Much appreciated!
I LOVED the music and the overall vibes, definitely feeling the aesthetic you were going for. One thing it is unfortunately missing is more sound... if nothing else, it would've been good to give the cars an engine sound. The monotonic whir of a car engine in the background would have really tied the chill vibes together. But overall, nice work! Wish I had a friend to play this with... ๐
121! Iโm not sure if thatโs a good time ๐ but I had a great time doing it. I really liked the aesthetic.
I think it would be more enjoyable with a map, so you could anticipate the turns.
nice game but the controls are (at least for me) hard to get used to
@baziki I'm so glad you enjoyed the music, that was a very VERY last minute addition. I figured between music or sounds for the engines, I'd rather have music. But I hear you, engine revving would have added a lot here.
@loiclegrosfrere 121 is a great time, easily the best time I've been told you got! I agree, a map would have been good for seeing the turns, understanding your position (if there are multiple players) and just seeing the progress along the track.
@ericns Appreciate it! I initially built it for controller but decided keyboard was more universal. As a consequence, you don't have really fine control over the turning.
It's a bit rough around the edges but still a nice entry! Feels nice and fast. Is there a difference between the green and purple car? I didn't really notice any.
The purple car and oversized lettering on the cover sell the scrappy arcade-racer look well. Four-player local play is a nice fit for it too. The map suggestion in the comments sounds useful, especially for keeping track of everyone in multiplayer.
If you have a moment, I'd appreciate a rating on my latest game, [Robot Workshop](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/60/trashfight).
the car feeling and the graphics are great but i don't understand how the menus works, can't play other thing that pyramid
I like the look. It took a minute to get used to the controls and when bumping a wall the camera felt a bit janky. but the arcade racer vibe is there and very nice =)
Pretty impressive to have splitscreen in jam game! Tried playing it solo with 2 screens but was hard. Though actually having multiple screens tooks me few tries since the menu isbugged?
The simple style works here since using the retro style screen shader improves the mood quite a lot. As others pointed out engine rev could have been nice and slight pumping sound if you hit the wall. Maybe some effect when you speed up to feel it more speedy. But the music is great too!
Love the retro feel, a quality entry. Driving felt slick and smooth. Nice music. I wish I could suggest improvements but everything there was great.
Funny simple game but its simplicity plays into the atmosphere. Great job!
