Well done. The graphics are really nice, the audio is great, and the gameplay is fun. Good job!

Art style and UI design remind me of a final fantasy game. What technology did you use to build it?
This is going to sound crazy but I swear whatever program you used to make this game was used to make a markiplier 5 nights at freddy's rpg like 10 years ago. Regardless, it was fun to dodge all the sentries
Is this RPG maker!? Fantastic!
@penumbrah I used RPG Maker VX Ace for the game engine. GIMP for the art. Bandlab for music.
Thank you all for your comments! I appreciate the feedback.
I really liked the graphics and the sound. Unfortunately, I didn't fully understand the mechanics. I was constantly being killed by spirits, either from behind the walls or I was doing something wrong.
I too got stuck on the sprites? they would freeze and then I would get sent back to the start?, Art was nice I like the style and the music and whispers where creepy.
Nice game with good audio! I was confused with the mechanics, didn't really understand the "UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT" message. By the end I was just trying to dodge all the mobs, but it was quite hard to get through.
@kapricorn-media Okay. Noted I will clarify things in the instructions.
Really nice art style and completeness!!! However full screen of purple still deals some damage to my eyes in my 1h gameplay! I really love this game!!!
I have no idea what framework you used but it gave me huge FF / Zelda feels haha Nice job! :D Are you planning on continuing it? :D
Ooh, RPG Maker. I haven't seen that in a while. The sprites that send you back to the start were not great. Different sequences to press would have been a better mechanic than the timing. That was very hard to get right the many times in a row you need to do it wit no feedback. It was also not explained or intuitive. I beat a few of them after reading the page here but didn't manage to complete the game.
@d3kryption I'm planning to add improvements based off the feed back I received here. @someone had great points that I will shore up on. The engine was RPG Maker VX Ace.
I had trouble with the up down left right part as well. Your instructions say with the same timing, maybe add in a visual indicator like the flame pulsing to the right tempo?
Love the "fight mechanic" and the voice acting.
I like the purple color palette :) I have to agree with the others though, down-left-right I didn't understand in the beginning. Also it was a bit confusing that I respawned without visibly "dying" if you know what I mean.
I see. Thanks for letting me know. @evil23. I thought that since the game would progress quickly you didn't need a game over screen. But you're right. Some indication should be made.
@tsaot I think that's a great idea. I think I will work that in!! :)
@kayrum thank you. I appreciate the compliment and feedback.
I can even dodge an enemy xD Are you supposed to press the keys as you see them? wait until the end and then repeat...? Liked the atmosphere / mood though... for the minutes I can survive before encountering the first enemy and dying xD
Thanks for playing @island-jam-2-group-3 . I'm going to make some corrections. Initially, you are supposed to listen to the sentry and follow the commands with the same timing. But, I'm going to make it easier for people to play.
