Like the concept. Would like to have a bit more friendly UI, but good job overall!

@02fc thank you! What do you mean exactly with more friendly? You mean from a UX perspective, aka. things are not clear/understandable enough or from a visual standpoint?
@pirey yes, sometimes it was not obvious that I need to make a right click on a company to see options. Also, maybe it's better to show option texts all at once when I do right click. At least, it was so for me
This game is really fun!
It reminds me of a similar game of the same genre called [Universal Paperclips](https://www.decisionproblem.com/paperclips/index2.html), but this feels a bit more polished. I think with a little more development, this could be a genuinely awesome game.
Keep up the good work :]
That was enlightening and genuinely fun to play. Simple, clear, tasteful, and meaningful. Respect.
First I didn't understand what was happening.. then I thought I figured it out.. then I went bankrupt.. definitely a very unique idea teaching you how to run a business, until you realize that you have no idea on how to run a business xD
Amazing use of theme and just makes you feel good cheating system.
After playing for a few hours, my browser froze up and then crashed :/
But it was sooo fun! Are you considering making a full version?
Hello Professor, i'm one of your students and would like to leave feedback. I really enjoyed the game - the games teachings about gaming the system to get incredibly rich feel applicable and relevant to real life. I hope once i scam my first bank in a loan it will feel as good as here.
I had some initial feelings, but that was gone after maybe 10 minutes when i was free to play and got really into the loop. - the top right hints can be a bit stealthy when changing, would be good to emphasize them. - year indicator is very minimal and does not tell me that it indicates a year and what the consequences are. Importantly it also does not tell me how far it will go to the right. - control hint font is very small on 3440x1440 - i wish i could fast forward. I'm sitting on loads of cash and just slowly watch it trickle down. edit: ah finally got the order of magnitude increase, nice! The dynamics did not change much though as i now watch trickle down of 10s :D - once i got really big numbers i had no waiting times, that was fine. The one thing that was annoying then was the popout animation of the context menu. If i deal with 10M+, there is only one relevant option (not dealing in 1s or 10s and actually i'd go for 1000s) - now i'm really only operating with two companies, always funneling the debt money back to my original company and i don't see much reason to do otherwise (late game the limiting factor became the quantity of 100 for buying/selling - 200K profit against 100K debt and not getting a loan is ridiculous :D - i'm not sure if this is intended, but ofc i will apply to 5 banks at the same time for a loan and accept all offers once they are all in
Overall i really like the style and once the scale of it established itself it became fun (when having multiple subsidaries became meaningful). Before that it was decent enough to keep me playing at least :D Great work overall, you should do this professionally. Just get a programmer to help you out, i had an "invalid array length" crash freezing the game and killing my run :P
@elanor thank you! Awesome to hear that you tried a second time! Sorry about the crash.. looks like theres a pesky bug hidden somewhere in the lategame.
I might spend a few weeks cleaning things up, adding proper lategame mechanics and rebalancing it.. :)
I think Rongo summed it up very well, and there is not much to add. Only as someone not involved in the curriculum, I struggled to get the hang of it. If the year were a bit longer at the beginning, I would have more time to shuffle my money around. Nonetheless, it got the message across, and I hope to set up a solid money scheme in my next attempts.
5/5. My favorite game this LD so far. And it actually made the concept click with me.
Now I can try it in real life myself!
love the gallows humour and the societal commentary. as incremental interesting in the start but does get samey after the 100s, though the scope does fit the jam well. honestly, even the very simple minimalist style fits the mood of the crime that is committed - sterile bureaucracy wasting no thought about the actual damage inflicted to society. lovely little note in the top left corner too. for enhancements of the incremental format i'd like to see a larger diversity of white collar crime, i'm sure there are many more ways to skirt the laws. and dare i say, this might actually work as an edu-game with that polish. rene hit all the ux things well already, can only second those
side note the tutorial seems to be delayed if your second subsidiary goes bankrupt first, guess i was overzealous
Very unusual game. Finance is beyond my ken, but I get the message. I was able to make some progress, though I felt guilty doing so — but that is the point. A game with a keen message, very educational! Top score for innovation.
Great execution of a very interesting concept!
Why I have the feeling I can not make these transactions in real life? Good game. It disguises as an economy game but it is a puzzle. I like the minimalism of the game. I wish there was a way to speed up the game as I am forced to wait
