Wow, a little sad, but I enjoyed the game, thanks!

this is WAY deeper of a game than meets the eye. thought it would just be a basic layer sorting thing but damn. don't want to spoil it for anyone but I can say I really enjoyed it. great submission!

I loved this game.

The use of the theme on several meanings is a smart idea (depths of layer, depths of story...) Reordering the layers is actually satisfying, and I love the touch that the character tell himself regularly that he want to stop.

Thanks for providing the answers though, I got most of it myself but it was useful to finish up the details and allow me to see the whole game.

Thank you and great work !

Interesting concept. I couldn't get quite get the right solution by myself, some of the differences were very subtle!

leoatopos 2025-04-09 11:32

@dstoc Yeah, I took too much time on the concept, and no time for polishing, especially the difficulty. Thanks for your playing!

Tried at first without looking at the solution, and I think there are enough good looking layer-orders that you'd probably want to use logical checks instead of direct lists (say, pass the player if "mountain" is behind "cat", "logo" is in front of "river", etc.). Otherwise, the art is a lot of fun to mess around with, and the dialogue is great, especially how it addresses us, the people playing through Ludum Dare games :)

Wow. Mind blowing. Talk about innovation. Sorting layers in photoshop, the thing I always dread doing, playing with layers and them becoming different images with deeper meanings and interesting things? I could see a whole cozy game comming out of this layers concept. Extremely simple to implement engine-wise, works perfectly for the theme, and has this amazing potential if well refined. Seriously this is an awesome idea, probably one of the most innovative games I have seen here so far.

So Lovely! Quite innovative. Amazing work!

Very interesting idea. I just came from failing at 2 fast reaction games so this was a nice change.

Both times I tried I went to the same ending. Are there other endings?

leoatopos 2025-04-11 11:19

@oliver-day Answers are in the discription below. Thanks for your playing.

Great interpretation of the theme and nice, simple execution. I liked the multiple endings, too! Good stuff

Interesting idea! I wonder what other theme you were rooting for ;)

leoatopos 2025-04-18 04:33

@grid96 Is this showing what I was rooting for? I actually couldn't remember. 截屏2025-04-18 12.29.42.png Glad that you like the idea. Thanks.
