First of all, You rly nailed it with the game feel, I actually thought in the beginning to step on everyone. I liked the visuals you came up with, it's rly pleasing.
Regarding the topic mentioned earlier, I think the game had a message up to that point — **Mild Spoilers Ahead** That some people would be considered higher than others, and the Mc is willing to step on people 'lesser than', and I this message kinda waters down in the end, but I think that showing some dialogue abt MC's morals and putting them into question would better frame them as someone bad. Maybe using sfx to show suffering idk, make the last scene more uncomfortable. But it'd be pretty understandable not to add those technical features, due to time constraints, but i think that maybe having more build-up and working a bit more in the last dialogues would have been more than enough.
Nevertheless, I rly liked the game and enjoyed a lot. Liked your interpretation of the theme!
Really a creative game of the topic :)
This was very funny game, i think it is my favourite from this gamejam! graphics is also cool!
Very interesting take on the topic. I liked the different stages of the level and had fun playing it - good work!
A very exciting game (for me personally). Good job
Interesting take on the theme. Despite the obvious ethical issues, squishing people was pretty entertaining. From the foot coming down to the splat. It's quite a satisfying stomp.
The music and generally cheerful tone go well with the "it's not a big deal" narrative.
Nice, very similar idea to my game! I like how it changed from don't stomp to do stomp. Maybe being able to move the foot would have made it a bit more interesting. Right now, trying to get a good score is all about patience, but maybe patient players enjoy that.
Haha, fun take on the theme! Didn't quite understand why at times my score went down and at times went up, but had fun squashing some... things? :)
Wow, what an interesting concept. Simple yet effective, and the dissonance between the satisfying crush and the topic drove the point home. Congrats!
Very interesting and expandable idea! You take on the theme is very creative too, congrats on the entry!
I actually really liked this game! NGL It took me a second to realize you actually LOST points for stomping on people. I was having fun stomping on them. THe animation and stomp sound are soooooooo good. Interesting political commentary!
good single button concept, and it's fun too!
So... personally I would probably have swapped out the drive home that this is a bad person targets from lgbtqi+ demonstrators to something universally agreeable to be stomped on such as babies. I'd be much to scared to have it taken out of context, and story-wise I didn't really see the plot going there. In general, I feel the plot could have benefited from being a bit more specific about who the player was, what this legislation was and so on.
Game play wise I was confused about it feeling like a success stomping on the dudes. both via the name of the game and the sound effects. it took me a while to understand that it was bad. I also think it would have been interesting to have combo-bonuses for the more that you were hitting.
Quite soon it got so very crowded though, and with the delay in the stomp, that I sort of gave up on very much trying to avoid them. It would have worked better if the aim was to stomp bankers and politicians and other high value targets with that crowd density. Then a combo bonus would have been very sweet. Could have super extra bonus multiplier for only stomping people of one kind.
@local-minimum Thank you for the great feedback. I realize now that the gameplay and that message weren't really in unison. I hadn't really thought about it like that but by making the enemies squishy and satisfying to stomp, I was communicating the wrong emotion to the player. Thanks for pointing that out. :)
