Yo nice game! Had a bit of trouble getting to grips with the how to move stuff around but overall pretty cool! Quite unique idea as well! Also @SpaceLtdGang

mortusnegati 2023-10-10 05:41

I couldn't get the shelves to move or go where I want them, same with the table legs, can't take them out of the crate even though there's space on the ground. Let me know what I'm doing wrong and I'll be back to play (and hopefully win) later.

Cool concept! I really like the isometric perspective.

mortusnegati 2023-10-10 16:39

I beat it! I liked it. It played like solitaire almost...

jon-curtin 2023-10-10 23:48

Interesting concept. I like the art and sound and the intro was great. I had a little trouble moving the larger objects but overall it was very fun. Great job!

nathan-franck 2023-10-14 01:04

Hello, I really couldn't figure out the first level - I can stack small luggage on other luggage, with the big luggage capping it off - the fish bowl also caps a stack. I can also get the floor into 3 different configurations by moving the big 1x1 blocks around, but nothing else seems to budge. I'm stumped!

Fun game, easy to vibe to. I found my self in a zen state trying to get everything to fit just perfect. Although I did have a little bit of trouble knowing what I could place on other things, and ultimately restarted a run where I only had the bed left to unpack because of an interaction I didn't know about and thought I was soft locked. I figured it out the next time around and completed the look. I would have liked to see a rotation control, because everything faces the same way at the end of the game and it is hard to see behind some of the larger objects when they are filled.

egormnc 2023-10-14 14:19

The game is interesting, it was quite nice to play it, keep working on it and everything will be cool

madbarron 2023-10-14 19:10

@nathan-franck you need to open up the crates and luggage to unpack furniture and items. Right click to open and close them :)

james-laird 2023-10-15 16:04

Gameplay was fine; I also had a lot of trouble with click detection, unfortunately; couldn't get small suitcases to stack, couldn't drag things onto the floor even when there was room. Unpacked my first shelf, dragged it to the floor, then couldn't drag the second shelf at all.

fraanns 2023-10-15 16:47

Really good game, although it seems that blocking yourself in is quite easy :D

shigor 2023-10-15 16:58

I almost gave up several times before I found the solution. If you hadn't provided the hints and final screen, I would have given up ;)

hawkin 2023-10-15 17:01

This game looks like a lot of fun to play. Unfortunately, I seem to get stuck pretty quickly and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've got one shelf on the ground, but I can't drag anything on top of it. The bottom-left crate has another shelf in it, but I can't even drag it out of the crate. If there is a reason that I can't stack things on the shelf, or can't drag the new shelf out, then it could be better explained.

If you can give me some suggestions of what I'm missing, I'd love to come back and try again!

tiseno 2023-10-15 17:42

How do I move the table legs one I have unpacked them?

I do not seem to be able to assemble the table legs with the table top either.

madbarron 2023-10-15 18:24

@hawkin Yes, the shelves are weird. The first one you see must be slid to an open floor tile next to where it starts. The second one can be picked up and placed on top of it. I just pushed a fix for the bug you encountered where you can pick up the second one first.

Here's my advice: 1. Open up the floor space above the shelves (where the duck is in your picture) 2. Drag the first shelf unit out of the box 3. Pick up and place the second shelf unit on top of the first 4. Once assembled, you can start loading the shelves with certain items.

Good luck, and thanks for playing :)

madbarron 2023-10-15 18:25

@tiseno The table legs are the base of a piece of furniture. They are heavy so they must be slid into an open floor tile directly adjacent to where they are in the box. Once the legs are on the floor, the top can be placed onto them. I hope this helps! :)

hawkin 2023-10-15 18:51

@madbarron maybe it wasn't obvious, but the first shelf unit is already on the floor (top right). The second shelf unit is in the box, and I am unable to drag it out of the box (as in, when I click it, it just doesn't move).

dan-str 2023-10-15 19:19

cool game, keep up the good work

romkoz 2023-10-15 19:34

Cool and relaxing puzzle game. Good work

le-don 2023-10-15 19:39

Great game! Reminds me a lot of Unpacking and I think this is a solid jam version of it. There might be some room for some minor improvements, as sometimes the game felt a bit clunky and moving items around could be smother. Since one item occupies one room square it might be helpful to make those squares stand out more. Assembling the bed was also a bit hard, as I just couldn't understand what those parts were supposed to be. But again, overall I think this is a great game!

madbarron 2023-10-15 20:08

@hawkin I saw that. I think you got the bug where you actually put the second piece down first. The base piece can only go on an adjacent spot and the top piece can be placed anywhere.

**ON MY QUEST TO RATE ALL 15 GAMES NAMED SPACE LTD I’M TRYING OUT ALL THE GAMES NAMED SPACE LTD.**

The controls,,, The fact that for the big items you still can drag them was VERY unintuitive. A hint, sound cue or a small tutorial could've made it su much easyer to grasp.

I'm complaining, bocouse as soon as i got the idea of dragging boxes and furniture - the game transformed into a very pleasant experiance! I enjoyed it alot, so much that when i forgot to take a screenshot i just played it again and had fun repeating unpacking, even managed to find another order to open some crates. Bed assembly took some trial and error, so maybe ingame instruction would've been nice too. Perhaps as one of the books you can unpack and open!

Other then some unintuitive control - a very good job! When you get a grasp of it it's kinda sad thare is only one level, now i want more :))

And as for my obligationm if you want you can check other Space LTD games on a jam and join our gang! Find us on the https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/54/space-ltd- [number]

@boyar Thanks for the very detailed review with some good ideas! I'm glad you liked it.

As for your quest, I'm afraid I'm way ahead of you...I completed the tour several days ago 😈

kiv 2023-10-18 09:30

Very nice sorting puzzle game. I like the art and the mood, it fits the gameplay pretty much. Good entry!

aucguy 2023-10-19 04:16

Interesting memory challenge. I had to remember where everything was and what order to take them out in. A major feature that would be useful is an undo button as messing up requires a full restart. The game can get repetitive doing the same starting sequences over and over. I also had some trouble figuring out how the different furniture pieces what together. I looked at boyar's photo to figure it out. Also, the music was relaxing (it fit with the mood).

vasco-rodrigues 2023-10-20 23:21

I really liked it! Especially the art, I think it's my favourite. Sometimes couldn't move well the bigger objects, but it was a very challenging one to play. Maybe adding a tutorial could be the next step? Good luck!
