Great game despite the lack of graphics. It reminds me of the types of games that can bundled with operating systems back in the day.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD54 → Dodge the Cubes

Great game despite the lack of graphics. It reminds me of the types of games that can bundled with operating systems back in the day.
This is pretty fun despite being extraordinarily simple. The chaotic movement of the cubes is perfect - they are hard to predict but possible to avoid. The difficulty escalated very rapidly for me in levels 2 and 3, but level 3 had a safe spot off the left edge of the screen I was able to camp in.
Really fun to play. Could easily be expanded with more levels with different terrain layouts, as well as different cubes with slightly different following behaviour. Having pickups to give points, more lives, maybe even a Pacman style "power pellet" where you could destroy the cubes for a short time.
The only thing I'd change about the current version is add an indication of how much invulnerable time is remaining after the player takes a hit.
Nice work for your first finished game, next step is to polish! :D Well done for submitting! Hope you had fun :P.
Simple yet quite fun. The movement felt pretty smooth. A great foundation if you wanted to add more levels and obstacles.
Well done, your game is simple and intuitive, using simple graphics to express what you want to show, and your music is great
I like this game! It's fun enough, tho art is simple. I can easliy see the potential of this simple mini game. Happened to brainstorm some random thoughts on adding more mechanics: 1. More enemy types, e.g. some could be fixed, some could charge 2. More obstacles, e.g. some could be pushed 3. Different regions, e.g. in some region player's speed could be slow down 4. Player skills, e.g. charing 5. Some maze levels
Has a potential to be a popular genre like vampire survivors. You did a really awesome job for your first game! I really like this succinct game.
Very nice for a first proper game! I liked how the difficulty ramped up for each stage, and the mechanics were simple but worked well together!
If I had to suggest anything for how to make it better, I'd say... focus on adding sounds and visual flares for actions in the game. When you touch an enemy, make particles fly off and make a sound play, that sort of thing.
