Well done! Very intuitive what to do :)
The arrows were super helpful. A quick message that I needed to deliver the packages would have helped with the understanding of the game, but the instructions in the text helped. Art was really nice and the particle effects under the ship was a really good idea. For the most part I liked the game play but would have prefer the boat moving faster. It felt kind of like sailing through pudding. Very good entry :)
Nice quirky game, can be further improved but was a great job for the short time available, hope to see more of your submissions!
I'm not sure where I was supposed to deliver the packages, an arrow with a different color, or at least some feedback when I did deliver things would have helped. The art is cute and the music quite relaxing, which makes it a cosy experience that's nice to play.
The graphics/visuals are nice. The music doesn't really fit with the "feel" of the game. The boat moves really slowly and there are no sailing mechanics to give you "interesting choices" to speed up, deliver faster or maybe the more packages your boat has the slower it goes so there is risk vs reward.
At first i didn't know how to deliver the packages but then i realized they were getting auto picked up when you graze by one of the islands - this could be made more clear with some SFX on delivery or some particle effects.
The arrows were super helpful to find the packages but they should only appear near the edges of the screen and should go away when the package is "on the screen" - i was able to get into a weird state where the arrows where flipping around and moving from package to package.
Hi! Nice art and music, I really liked the main menu art too. I also liked the addition of the arrows pointing you in the direction you need to go.
I did hope for more emphasis on the viking theme, such as a viking style music and art for the houses.
**Other than that, I have a bit of feedback:** - I wish the ship would move a bit faster, it is a viking ship after all! - I wish there was no timer, and instead a different incentive to get you going, such as enemy viking ships raiding yours! - I wish there was some reward for delivering the packages - maybe upgrades, such as speed, defense against enemy ships, or even hiring vikings to shoot arrows / spears at other ships while you traverse the waters! - Maybe more stuff to find in the water, such as gold coins for upgrading stuff, sailors, upgrades, etc. - More effects and "wow" factors when scoring points
Great job for a jam though :)
It would have been cool to see the ship show a down and up facing sprite when moving in those directions. The music wasn't half bad for a team without a music/sfx producer. :)
Nice and simple. Congrats on your first jam! I hope you're inspired to add more.
Relaxing game, nice music.
It lacks challenge and gameplay mechanics.
However, the game is nice and has a pleasant atmosphere! Good job.
I like the visuals and the pleasant mood, but there's not much gameplay here yet. Perhaps something like rounds or days where you must achieve a minimum parcels delivered or something? Also definitely needed some flash and sound effects for dropping off packages. I didn't realize I had delivered four of them until I noticed they were gone from the bottom of the screen just because I'd passed a mailbox. Really good job on the menu screen art too.
I was really hoping for some viking music and narrative, then I thought that there are specific parcels for specific islands, then I realized it's just collecting and delivering to any island to a casual-like tune. So, it's a bit of a different game you're expecting to play, but keep jamming!
Congrats on your first jam! It's nice to see new people in here.
I liked the idea and I think this is a good potential core mechanic.
The game is quite simple and intuitive, although I didn't see that the islands were interactive until I accidentally bumped into one of them lol. I jumped into the game without reading the instructions, so it's my fault
And I think the background kinda doesn't seem to fit the color scheme, but it's a small detail.
Looks and sounds very nice but I got a bit confused by the gameplay. Didn't seem to be able to figure out how to "win" (if possible) or where packages were supposed to go in particular as there wasn't any indication or feedback. Is the goal just to deliver as many packages as possible within the time limit? The arrows were helpful for the packages, but I wish they'd shown me where to deliver them next 😅 Game is quite cosy but feels unfinished is all.
