@leggy sorry ngl I don't remember what tr stood for, I don't see a line number although I think I know where it is, I can't replicate it :(, I added a single line that might fix it though and uploaded a zip and installer. not set before reading it means I forgot to set a variable to 0, or false or something. super sorry
I'm afraid I didn't really understand it also. First I got stuck in the maze not knowing there was a wall jump which I only discovered after randomly mashing buttons. Next when reaching the end of the maze I walked past the farmer, and got stuck there out of bounds, and when I then made it back to click the farmer I just got sent back to the beginning of the maze..
I think some more explanation somewhere would really help, because you seem to have an interesting concept!
I didn't know what to expect when launching the game and it was indeed an original concept. I think gaining more than one wheat when you harvest it would have been nice, so you can ultimately fill your plot. I like your graphics, they make me nostalgic :)
I managed to get a house built and a farm plot set up (although it overlapped big time with my house). I planted three wheats and then waited a bit. I had trouble creating the clock, but it eventually appeared. I tried to run the maze, but it had gravity, and my little guy got stuck at the bottom and couldn't get out, so I had to quit. Appealing graphics, and a good effort, but a little confusing.
I think the maze game is not supposed to have gravity - I was getting stuck at the bottom too. Your buildings should not be able to overlap and the lack of sounds was a pity. The look and feel of the game was nice, however.
@fluburbio @dob @gurkenlabs sorry about late response, One thing I know to prioritize is making a tutorial but I really wanted to make the mechanics of my idea work, a simple thing I should have done was mention the platformer controls in the post but It didn't cross my mind, you can gain more than 1 wheat from harvesting it I didn't want it to double everytime since I wanted the player to harvest a small area and not have to walk a great distance so I made it give you 1 and there is a 2 out of 10 chance to get a second and if you do it makes a sound, I should have make the chance higher and been clear about how long it takes to get to the third stage, as for the maze I'm not sure if the gravity made you not jump at all but I think I should have quickly made w jump aswell along with space, or maybe the wall jumping/climbing should have been mentioned, also the sounds are pretty quiet I think? I tried to add them where they make sense. Also more sounds is a must for me next time. Also I wouldn't know off the top of my head what was wrong if the player pressed c and the clock didn't appear, since that never happened in my testing. what you have to press was mentioned in the post cause I knew that would be impossible to figure out. I think also I should have saved the projectile mechanic for something else since maybe a better first experience > the mechanics I came up with, if I think about it in a game jam way. This response is a little long so I'll leave it at that. Thank you for the feedback I really appreciate it. :)
Not huge fan of the graphics, and please include a readme file in future. Looked at repo, why are your json files .yy?
@lizelive not really sure what to put in the readme file, those json yy files are automatically created by game maker studio 2
Yay, another GameMaker fan ^^
The gameplay itself felt a little repetitive though that's the life of planting and harvesting crops I guess  I think a newly generated labyrinth and some more tasks would have boosted the replay value alot.
Good entry though, especially for doing all of this by yourself!
Edit: Also maybe write in your description that there is a wall jump mechanic because I also felt a little lost :) A tutorial always is a good idea - We added one to our game but it wasn't complete and lacked some information, the players would have really needed. So I feel you on that page.
@lizelive Sorry to sound a bit annoying and over the top but your comment doesn't show really good manners.
Giving some bad talk about the graphics and then not knowing that .yy files are the actual GameMaker files which definitely is not the same as a json file (obviously you wouldn't end a json file with .yy) just makes your comment look unnecessary and destructive.
On top of that there was no mentioning of what could have been done better, has potential or actually was good in the game - only thing you mentioned was a readme file which even I wouldn't know why one would need something. Please change that manner on this site, since we all are striving to be good game developers, get better at what we are doing and give CONSTRUCTIVE feedback to anyone so that they also have the chance to better themselves.
