@lonewolfdev @valentinis Thank you very much for playing! I'm glad you liked it!

good job, it is a good work dealing with the netcode!

Very cool game! Love how it plays with the theme. There is surely something to do with this idea for a commercial game with some improvements.

Well done!

Excited to see a multiplayer game here! Also an interesting decision to make chess into real-time game.

Just had a really fun game of this. Defo should expand this into a full blown thing. It's a crazy cool idea.

Though I think bots will be needed just to get that initial traction as finding players for MP is tough.

@coolgunxdd Thanks! I was really not sure if I can make it work but luckily chess is quite easy to implement so there ain't too many things you have to throw around the internet :D

@solah Thanks! I have already some improvements in mind... Let's see if I get around making post jam version of this. ^^

@iquant Yeah I was a bit hesitant to make a multiplayer game since in my experience its really hard to find players to try out the game.. and its just gonna get much harder to find multiple players at the same time. Luckily I get to pwn people if they happen to join while I'm lurking. >:))) jk jk. :D

@kimau thanks! I'm glad you liked it! Yeah. Simple bots were on my list to add but I just didn't have enough time. Definetelly will add them if I continue developing the game.

Was a lot of fun playing on makscee's stream. I'd seriously agree that you should play some chess, because this is fun but could be even more so! - Don't let pieces move if it would put your king in check (highlight these pinned pieces in red so that the player sees they are in danger!) - Implement a pawn promotion system - implement castling somehow(swap positions with nearby rook and draw all pawns towards king) - Make the ground fall away faster or maybe start some decay spots around the map, making navigation interesting.

Idea: since the name is "Last Pawn Standing", maybe if your king is taken, your opponent gets all non pawns, and one of your pawns is promoted to king? This could let players stay in, but at a disadvantage.

Awesome game that combines two very separate genres smoothly into an innovative mix. Playing this live on stream together with you and the others on the chat was truly an amazing, one-of-a-kind experience! Here’s the VOD if you want to check that out again: https://youtu.be/m7KJvAJLSXE

This game is really awesome. I could see this becoming a legit variant on Chess.com or something. I love the idea, and the game has been really well executed. The only real point of improvement I can think of is the camera angle - where it is sometimes hard to click pieces behind other pieces. Also, maybe an alert when you're "in check" aka your king is threatened (if this exists I missed it). Other than that, the art is nice, the piece movement feels smooth, the ui is clear about what units to move and such

I'll definitely show and play this game with my buddies later. This is something I would play outside of the jam - so I definitely encourage you to stick with it after the jam.

Solid work overall. GJ!

A really complete and polished game it relies a little heavily on you knowing chess which is unfortunate sometimes. but It's an interesting concept nonetheless, a little bit vague on some of the sprites and the fact that the game only really has a tutorial on the bare minimum isn't the best, but it's helpful.

It's definitely an interesting twist on chess though especially having it based around a clear time period, though it's a little vaguer on how long till it will be done, it's mostly fits but there were definitely a few times I thought that time was over and I was moving after it, but it ended up not being over and I could not move. Which had me confused for a sec, but it's relatively fast to get back into it.

The perspective is also a little weird especially considering the normal perspective of a chess game. I would' e thought maybe it would've gone with a top down view but more of a Chinese checkers (I think) style of board. Could be remembering that wrong though. That way it could be a slightly easier perspective at times. Cause it a was little hard to tell the diagonals from the straight directions sometimes due to the perspective.

Otherwise though it was definitely an interesting strategy setup especially getting free pieces. Assuming you don't uh instantly have them die like I did., they could likely be quite useful.

So overall, a very interesting take on Chess that adds some unique twists and some much faster paced gameplay. Definitely gonna have fun murdering people with chess pieces a few more times.

Novel concept and well done too! It's difficult to keep track of all the different types of your own and opponents' pieces, so I think I might've preferred a simultaneous turn-based variety of this, tho real-time hecticness is fun too. Slightly more responsive controls, a better camera angle, and I could see this being a popular stream game!

Woah what a great idea, and completely nailed the execution!
