Thanks @innocuousuk ! As said in my Blog post, it is out-theme and something I want to do since some time. So, normaly, I will continue the Dev, after a little post Jam pause ^^'
Very cool! I love that you can break the windows and go inside of the buildings (and also on top of them)! The music was very intense, fitting the rebel golf theme :)
My time was around 80 seconds, pretty slow.
@mathead Thanks ! I would have like to make more usage of buildings insides but time was short ^^'
I really like the music and the energy embodied in the walking animation. The whole concept is dope, well done.
Fun concept! I immediately slammed the golf ball through the window of a building and the mad dash to get inside was pretty funny. My top time ended up being around 40 seconds. The music definitely fits the chaotic action. I think it would have been cool to apply the theme in some way, but I see you opted out of that category. Nice!
I love the freedom you feel when kicking the ball around. Real nice!
Thanks! @brainloaf-studio With more planned features like power ups and multiplayer it would have been more chaotic ! @brandsma A bigger city is planned for more freedom !
Most stressful golfing game I've played in a while XD great job!
Love the look of the Characters!
The concept is fun but the gameplay is weird the goal is not really clear. Really feels like it will get better in the future!
Thanks ! @solah Yeah I miss time to clearly indicate what to do except in the How To menu.
The idea of playing golf in a city environment is very intriguing. Being able to enter the surrounding buildings was a nice touch, but in terms of gameplay it didn't seem to affect it all that much. Perhaps there could have been shortcuts through the windows etc? Having the features you mentioned (vehicles, pedestrians, abilities) implemented could have gone a long way to spice things up, but the core of the game is still very much playable. Looks like the theme was not taken into consideration, but you seemingly opted out of the category so can't fault you on that.
Music and the audio side was well done, same goes for the character and building models. UI was functional, although the font in the how to play menu was a bit hard to read. Core gameplay mechanics like hitting the ball and moving the character worked, but they were a bit clunky. Player movement was quite slippery and not in sync with the movement animations. Camera occasionally clipped inside the environment and the player model which was a bit annoying. The cursor could also have been locked and hidden during gameplay to help with the camera movement.
With a bit more time in the oven the experience could have been significantly more enjoyable, but that's the case with vast majority of Ludum Dare entries overall. Anyways, great job for a solo entry.
@justmars Thanks a lot for your comment ! I already noticed many of the issues you mentioned and planned to fix it in future version ! I juste need time, like during the GameJam ^^'
Pretty good game. I cannot say that it fits with the theme - and it seems to me that you are trying to exhibit a previous work which you made. I have nothing against that, but it is not the goal to a LudumDare session. However, the main mechanics work well as expected and there is a potential. Cool ++
@geckoo1337 Thanks for playing ! And no it's not a previous work ^^'. I also opted out the theme vote as I did not use it in my game.
Yaaay! Fun premise and attitude. It was a fun surprise when I broke a window. Biggest things I can think to improve would be restricting the camera so it doesn't go through the ground, and making the ball easier to spot. Nice work for a jam!
