Looks cool, but the game just fails in like a second after opening it. I don't even get to try out the controls before I've lost. Maybe some counter is wrong, or you havn't applied DeltaTime to your game update so that it runs a lot faster on my machine?

Hope it's something easy to fix, so others can enjoy what looks like a fun game :) Good luck!

The game has a great concept! Golf where you're on a timer would be really interesting to play. Sadly, the game has quite a few bugs. The timer goes WAY faster than 10 seconds. Having those 10 seconds count down when the ball is rolling and you can't do anything is also really mean. A bit of fixing and this would be a great game!

Points by the way add non-standard to billiards. In general, cool simple billiards

It seems that game works only on PC which have VSync enabled. I will fix this bug tomorrow. Thanks for your feedback ++

Today I finally fixed the main problem. All works well as expected. Thank you everyone for your kind feedback :)

Really cood idea! It's so exciting to see a self-made game engine in the Jam. I love the background music too. My game also use the idea of golf. Please feel free to review.

While of course not as visually impressive as some of your other games, I can't even begin to wrap my head around how much work it must've been to code it in C++! Chapeau bas!

The positives of this approach are, of course, easily felt. The game plays super smooth and the physics do exactly what one might expect.

@trexxak clearly you understand what I tried to do - my goal. I could do something with Unity as usual, but this time I wanted to create something from A to Z developing a template in C++ (a language which I love). For this reason, without any dependencies like DircetX, SDL or SFML I was naked like a worm (comme on dit chez nous). I am happy about what I accomplished even if it is not visualy impressive. As I said in my entry post, this LudumDare became for me a CodeJam. Thank you for your comment. I will test your project soon ++

I'm a big fan of golf and poolroom, so a game like it, i really love it, the physics are good, just a little point about the graphics and the sound design not really good, but it's fun overall, GG !

It was not as easy as I expected but I managed to finish, and it took me a while to find my way on each level. Great realisation for a compo, well done! (btw, I didn't found how to erase the dots, right-click always adds a new one above the previous, but I guess I'm doing it wrong)

geckoo1337 2022-10-15 14:22

@lereveur Thank you for playing. I really appreciate your feedback. I hope that this time I did not disappoint you with my template. I tried to increase my skill developing something in pure C++, instead of another project with Unity with which I could create a better game. Thank you for your kind words. They help a lot ++

Pour effacer une marque (dot) **clique exactement sur le point avec le bouton droit** - c'est au pixel près :)

Very impressive considering you created it from scratch. Especially the last level gave me a headache, but eventually I made it through. Also very nice idea to let the player mark, where he shot the last time, although it doesn't always end on the same spots, but for the first shot it's very helpful.

I have one small thing to add to make the gameplay just a little bit more streamlined: Show the player when he can shoot the ball again. I repeatedly tried to drag the line once the ball slowed down until it actually appeared and I think there can be a better solution

geckoo1337 2022-10-15 18:08

@momo-hunter yes you are right. The player does not know that he can shot again the white ball only when the velocity is under a minimal value - and it is a little bit frustrating. Thank you for your feedback. I really appreciate it. I wish you the best ++

This was a great billiards game. The physics felt great, it looked great, and it sounded great. My only suggestion would be to make the cue ball slow down slightly faster. I felt like I was waiting for it creeping on when it was _almost_ stopped.

Also cool that you did it in pure C++. You can definitely tell it was made that way instead of with Unity in the best way. Low-level tuned games always feel so much tighter to me.

A very neat game! Bonus pooints for custom engine!
