It's really fun with all the loot and weapons

adncoach 2022-04-06 18:12

Quite fun!

hidden complexity in this one! i like it a lot, nice work!

deylinia 2022-04-06 18:13

Really fun! I lasted 4:14

The difficulty increased really steeply just before that, while prior to that I felt it was too easy!

I think the best feedback I could give would be to smooth out the difficulty curve and maybe add more buildings!

Great game though I had a lot of fun with it

That was a fun game and the pathfind worked really well 🙂. I got 85 before getting overwhelmed. It would be nice if you could rotate the walls a bit faster.

Note on my comments :) - I score based on comparison to other games, my comments are about supporting this community and helping other developers be encouraged and grow.

Roses: For a SOLO game this has it all, music, art, gameplay that has some mechanics beyond the base gameplay loop. All of which is implemented well. Be proud of what you made in under 3 days by yourself!

Buds: I think the mechanics are your strong suit so either lean into them or try to expand in the other areas to balance it out.

Thorns: The wall rotate wasn't quick enough for me to realize it really was rotating because I was quickly tapping R. Consider tweaking your instructions to say HOLD "R" :) or snapping to 45° on each tap would be a good option. I'd also like a win condition... but I think this theme will disappoint me a lot on that regard (not considered for scoring :) ). But you could have had a point at which enough messages were sent that you win even though your character is doomed.

I enjoyed the game and smiled a few times :)

Thank you very much for your feedbacks.

I am aware of slow rotating the wall and I didn't want to make any changes just let the game be as it is from the first published.

@thedevduellist thank you for detailed feedback I really appreciate it. I spent a lot of time one the mechanics of the game a then I realized I didn't have time to finish everything what I wanted  thats why the game dont have some proper ending. About the wall rotating yes I am aware of that, it's little mistake in code which I realized after publishing the game.

This was great fun! The slow rotation has been commented before I see, +1 to that, but overall, a great game. Well done!

@Domin77 Just so you know you can fix the wall rotation speed, it is allowed. You aren't allowed to add new features, but fixing existing ones based on feedback is good (in some ways it is the best teacher). I'll quote the rule here: "Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline. You are asked to highlight the changes you make in your submission (a short change log). You probably wont get a 2nd chance with some players, but at least it wont be a problem for future players."

So feel free to shut us all up about the darn wall rotation lol :P

wow that was really fun, felt like one of those flash games (especially the graphics)

This is a cool game. I was floored by the enemy variety. There are some things that hold it back, though. I've already seen people mentioning the wall rotation. The other thing for me was that it goes from pretty slow and manageable to an unwinnable deathmatch at around 3 minutes. It's fine if it gets to that point eventually, since the game isn't supposed to go on forever, but I would appreciate a more gradual gradient. I also think that shotgun shells should be more scarce since it only takes a couple to take out an enemy. I found that I was never in danger of running out of shotgun ammo, while I had to carefully budget assault rifle ammo. Good job overall, though, this is a solid entry.

God job on game! I just have minor suggestions regarding enemy health. I think 6 hits per enemy is a bit too much with the pistol. Maybe it would have been more fun if enemies had lower health but were more in numbers. That also seems like a good way to fix the significant increase in difficulty curve.

Well done! Definitely felt like I was delaying my inevitable loss, hah. In addition to the wall rotation speed, I would also like to be able to choose which direction it rotates, since I want to slap them down as fast as possible. Also, wasn't sure what sending a message does, but there was a hint in-game when I was close to the ship so I did it a few times - that's useful UX if sending messages is important.
