Very solid compo entry! I like a lot of the little touches like particle effects, camera shake and the fire rate being linked to your temperature. Good job!

lot of the little touches like particle effects and camera shake great visuals
Very good looking game, and it plays very smooth. This is a perfect little LD game! The only complaint I have is that it's hard to see where you're moving, because of the transparent floor. Good job!
Man this game looks and feels really good, this sound matches well with the pace of the game. The models even have little legs was a nice touch.
This is a neat idea and there's plenty of polish (lighting effects, screen-shake, etc.) too.
I like the way you have to balance the benefits of keeping the temperature high against the risks of overheating.
A lot of these types of top-down arena shooters devolve into just running in circles around the enemies chasing you, but the falling obstacles and the risk/reward element of the temperature mechanic help keep it interesting.
It seems that if you keep moving, you can generally avoid taking damage, so once I'd gotten the hang of that, the game started to feel a bit too easy.
I'm glad you all enjoyed the game, thanks a lot for playing it!
@squimmy I can see that yeah, I was hoping that as the spawnrate increased it would be harder to run around because of all the platforms + your heat still gradually increases but the values probably need some tweaking. Thanks for good feedback :)
Great job making such a well designed and polished game. I love how the temperature affects your shooting speed which entices you to push it closer and closer to 100.
If I were to change anything, I would change the floor and maybe add a pattern because it's a little disorienting how it is now. Something about the transparent floor with the stars in the distance just felt weird when I was moving around the arena. Maybe its just me
good visuals and seems very polished, the game idea is on point with the theme
That was fun. The camera shake felt like a little much to me, but I won't complain about making things juicy. The graphics were nice, but it was a little disorienting in the beginning because I wasn't expecting parallax on the floor I was standing on. The runaway thermals as you reach 100C can make it hard to notice when you're getting too close - some kind of indicator on the player character - like tinting them red or something - would really help prevent accidental deaths. A fun little action game, but I could see it getting expanded into something of a puzzle game too, where you have to manage your heat while fighting off enemies to stay cool. Good job!
It was fun for a while. I liked the unstable temperature effects. I died both with it to hot and too cold, so I'd say the balance was right. The gun had a satisfying pew! I found that after a while, the freeze things become obstacles too. So I was avoiding bombs and freezer drops. Though I did end up running in circles toward the bottom of the map. Nice and polished. Good stuff.
the polish on this game really sold it  ! the music is really good as well. honestly, it was a surprise it was a compo game. with how well this game was made, i couldn't have guessed it was made in 48 hours
Thanks all of you for all the great feedback and for playing my little game! :) I'm glad to hear you all enjoy it and that it worked out mostly like i envisioned it. Maybe I'll come back to this eventually and fix the stuff you've all mentioned for a final release :D
You took the theme to it's core. Well done!
Great little game, soo addictive and had a nice visual feel. Robot was super cute! Thank you for this little gem:)
That's really nice game! I love how a process of balancing a single thing affects so many part of gameplay: you must cool down, which makes you get closer to enemies; you don't want to freeze and shoot slowly so you try to not pick all cooling cores at once -- so you are risking overheat. It's really fun and well balanced... and very unstable at the same time (I hope that makes sense )
I don't know if it was intended but I was able to play after death (and the timer kept on going) and shooting hoards of enemies with insane fire-rate -- lots of fun!
It also a lot of room to grow: add more enemy-types, a boss fight maybe? If you wish to expand it of course. Maybe reduce health of basic enemies so it's more fun and less stressful? I dunno, just throwing some ideas
I actually was streaming and recording my playthrough of your game... but running it consumed all my system resources so I've got recording with like 1 frame per 5 seconds  I've tried to include all my impressions and ideas in the feedback above
I'm a big fan of twin stick shooters, I like it! The falling ceiling was a little subtle at first, but now I get the theme as well. Nice music too, very fitting!
Thanks everyone for playing! Hope all of you enjoyed :)
That's a lot of great feedback thank you! @caudatecoder That was unintended hahah, but very fun to play around with. Glad it created some more enjoyment hehe. That is very true, kind of making me want to develop this further and maybe make a final release :D Woops I'm sorry for that, should not have used the high definition render pipeline in unity. >_< You said a lot of great feedback now though, you're 100% fine!
I love the feedback from the shooting, but aiming is a bit imprecise. I would increase the max temperature before losing, as fast shooting is satisfying and it can increase the pace of the game
Such a good top down shooter for compo. I managed to hold out for 50 seconds :)
managed to survive 127 seconds until i got gang bang by the weird barrels xD
192 seconds here ! The randomness of the spawning rate got me in my first game, for some reason no enemy spawned in like 15 seconds giving me enough time to reach max temp, but in my second I lost because the whole level was littered with cooling canisters and I could no longer flee all the enemies without collecting a lot of them, and ending up sloing my shooting rate too much. I eventually got trapped between too many enemies and got exploded. In the end, I guess heaters gonna heat ! Cool game !
Good compo submission, I love the graphics and gameplay
