Really like the music and the style of the game. Did take me a min to understand what I was doing even after reading the description and info on the page. Maybe a cooldown on the laser would be good so you cant just hold down to shoot but a really fun game either way! Great work!

The visuals are great. The gameplay is solid, however I feel like it takes a bit too long for it to get good. The beginning of the game is too slow.

I struggled a bit with the building but after I while it was smooth sailing. Shooting is a bit overpowered since you can just hold shoot and spam bullets but I think overall you did a really good job, well done!

Holy crap this is ambitious. A basebuilding/tower defense/twin stick shooter/survival and resource gathering game with character animations and pathfinding in a gamejam? I'm gobsmacked that it works at all, let alone that I was able to play it for half an hour and had fun. In terms of the core gameplay loop the only significant critique I would give is that I always felt severely short on the fire resource. Maybe there's something I didn't understand or notice, but it feels like you can only get it automatically when the drill activates? It would be nice if there was some way to convert wood to fire and/or you could collect it from the aliens or something. In any case, nice work! Would love to see where this idea could go with more polish.

Fun little tower defence, really needed some more juice and hit feedback to make the combat a bit more engaging, hit-flash, particle effects, sfx and enemy death explosions are really what it needed to give it that extra kick.

Awesome to see it feature complete and basically bug free however, it's always impressive to me when I see a game that is functionally complete! Good stuff!

simpathey 2021-10-05 02:28

I liked it a lot, but maybe add a small pause between the combat and build phase so I dont accidentally build walls. Fun game!

second it, the idea is very ambitious, and the overall execution is solid - considering all those mechanics work in a game that was made in 3 days, it is a great feat of team effort!

I liked the gameplay. Took me a little bit to understand what was going on, and I got stuck in the screen at some point, but I enjoyed playing it!

cornflowerblue 2021-10-05 04:35

It's fun! It just takes a moment to get going.

mikeklubnika 2021-10-05 12:24

I found it fun. The starter sentries were severely underpowered in my opinion and it took a bit to get that yellow stuff to build better ones. I didn't find a single bug, massive respect for that.

foxxy 2021-10-05 19:41

Nice game. Took a while to get the controls ('cos I didn't read the instructions (my bad)) so spent the first 5 turns killing them by hand (head lazer).

eveenova 2021-10-05 19:43

Love a gather/build/defend cycle and punching alien trees! It didn't FEEL unstable by round 5 or so, but theme aside this was very cool. Turns out you can build things across the screen, and a build preview would be nice.

kitkii 2021-10-05 20:08

Was a slow start to get into it but it started to become challenging the more I played, good overall gameplay, I would say that adding a way to get the resource from the drill quicker would have been good as I felt like I was only gathering wood after certain rounds and not building otherwise I really enjoyed it.

adroman 2021-10-05 21:05

After figuring out the controls and the strategy (I love those oveclocked sentries), it was fun

fractale 2021-10-05 21:24

I press F a lot by mistake. great game guys! I love the music

nazorus 2021-10-05 21:28

Took some time to get going but that was pretty good. The pixel art is solid and I'm really digging that music! Really sets the sci-fi mood. My only gripe is that the game feels pretty slow, especially at the beginning, and that it sometimes won't place buildings (when they're too close I assume).Other then that, the game runs very smoothly and I didn't encounter any issue.

Good job on that entry guys!

zain 2021-10-05 23:37

It took me a bit to understand the gameplay but after that I really had fun with it! After playing it for a bit I had a pretty nice base set up. Great game!

cloistered 2021-10-06 05:51

The art is good,The track that bullet fly feel great~ I like it.

I also had some little suggests: #There need a effect when enemy get hit(maybe a red flash,a little hit back) #I think maybe you can allow player to run when they hold SHIFT #The HP bar is a little big, more screen space maybe~

Followed you and waiting for your new games~

Very interesting game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 49 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/jL-Xn4X6IAQ

itsboats 2021-10-06 21:39

I had a lot of fun with this, although I REALLY wanted to get the unstable turret but I don't think there was any chance of me getting it xD

I think the gameplay loop is great in its current state, I would love to see a post jam version with more polish, balance changes and some more content like different structures to build!

ismael-rodriguez 2021-10-09 00:56

Good job yall, this was a big idea for a jam! Def agree with what 3mpty said about the game juice. The velocity of the lazers is a little weird, they function more how I'd expect missiles to work.

I think a type of day/night cycle would work perfectly for build-phase/defense, I think it would help the player understand the 2 phases a little better. There are some features in here that are surprising to see, like the HUD indicators for your drill site and approaching enemies, nice touch!

The visuals are okay, all the different pixel sizes make it look a little too inconsistent. It doesn't need to be a more "purist" form of pixel art, but trying to stick to one size I think would look better. Especially because the art is mostly good if I ignore the different sized pixels! The drill looks really good, and the guy's walk animation is smooth!

Overall a good entry yall, good job!
