Strangely addicting. It would be more cool if it had a simple high score table.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD48 → DigSweeper

A higher level of this old game: minesweeper.gif
I think it was your intent, after all. Loved the reference!
It is a very addictive game! You may need some small elements on the screen, like "score" and "level" maybe. But I really liked the way you took that old concept and adapted it to the theme, I thought it was amazing.
The sound of the strong wind also gives this game an incredible atmosphere. I think that if you put in some "sky changes", like a good hdri, it could add some weight to the game.
Great work!
I can totally see this becoming more minesweeper-like especially if you implement things like "I think there's a mine here" and get awarded something for guessing right. interesting idea
I enjoyed dropping down through the black abyss, I just needed a little more feedback from what I was doing. I wasn't quite sure how deep I actually was in(What level was I at). I think my impatient got the better of me and I would quickly click to get to the bottom and that would cause me to fall on a bomb. Other than that, I'm not sure if the game ramps up in difficulty beyond additional tiles.
Maybe if there were a timer of sorts to force me to pickup speed. This is a solid foundation to build on. Good job.
The black abyss is not a bad thing, i liked it  The game seems a bit random for me, there is no way to know where a mine is.
I liked the aesthetic and the concept of the game
A take on 3D minesweeper, I like it! I think the game excels best at the mood it sets. It's very calming. I do think it needs at least 1 more game mechanics though to make it feel complete. I'm not sure what that would be, but I do think the idea of using theological concepts, quotes, and ideas (such as the setting of purgatory which you proposed) would be unique. One of my favorite pieces of literature is Dante's Inferno (and with it Purgatorio and Paridiso), I think this game could be very cool to utilize something like Dante's work. Anyways, great work!
I'm addicted in this game
@arturgiardi @brendev @verygenuinecraze @mrtroy @prodigalson @lrvstudios and @greyvan thanks all for the feedback. if im going to continue development i think i want to keep it kind of meditative so might avoid timers and highscores, but i definitely agree some secondary mechanic or game loop is needed. thanks for playing your comments were really nice! 😊
MineCraft meets Minesweeper, good work. Thanks
Cool concept but I feel like it needs a bit more to it? Minesweeper had the number system to hint if there was a mine nearby, maybe that could have added another twist that makes mining a mine more consequential.
Haaaaa a minesweeper in 3D! :D It sounds like minecraft when you mine under your feet ^^
Cool and funny game idea haha :D fits the theme perfectly
Mhh...it seems minesweeper but the version 3D XD. The concept is quiete pretty but after time is become boring.
I love this game, 3d mine sweeper, i would love to see this game developed further, maybe more controls, or interesting blocks that have different effects on the level or player. Great job.
This was a neat idea! The first couple levels are a little too easy, but as the density of mines gets larger there starts to be some interesting strategy around where to dig. Not sure if it's intentional, but the view after you fall off looks really cool. It can get annoying if you accidentally walk into a mine during a later level and have to fully restart, it might be nice to just respawn from the current level. Great work!
This felt kinda interesting at first, but after not very much time, it already started becomming repetative. In certain cases, you also had to be carefull about dropping down a level in order to not bump against a mine one tile over.
I can understand not finding the time (or skill) to make background music, but I would not have used wind sounds instead. I thought that windsound was rather hostile, in the sense that it discourages from palying.
The graphics are honestly kinda shit.
All in all I would concider this a neat concept, but I would reserve much more timie for polish when you make your next game.
