LOL that was funny as heck! I'm afraid I could be the only nerd who plays because this is worth it.

chumzy 2021-04-26 18:27

It was... interesting. Honestly though its pretty funny and weird and I enjoyed it.

I didn't play this game because I'm too old to have a Roblox account, but if you didn't make the music I don't think you're allowed to enter this into the compo :(

Nice stuff, love the 3d models :)

Making a Roblox game in 48h is so badass! It's wild that it's networked and multiple people can play. I love how dark of a concept this is for a kids game, and how your art got censored by the mods. Plus I totally relate to this fear of under my stove/fridge.

Cool to see people using Roblox for stuff like this! The game is weird and funny and very roblox-y. I'm not sure whether I got to the end or whether there was more I didn't find, but nice job!

ladybenko 2021-04-28 21:34

Hi! Is there a way to play this without a Roblox account? Thanks

ruthiepee 2021-05-10 17:56

@ladybenko unfortunately no, that's a limitation of the Roblox platform. It's free and only takes a second to sign up, but I feel you, I wouldn't download Roblox just to play a jam game either :P

The very weird and funny. I overall liked it. I would perhaps have liked a bit more gameplay, but it's okay for a jam game. Well done.

Very interesting

I never really had a look at Roblox, but hats off to you for developing something like that in 48 hours. Just for you I setup a Roblox account and played around - interesting an enjoyable. Sad to see that you can't use your own music - and also thanks for the postmortem, maybe I should check that out for fun as well!

Loved the playfulness of this! Felt like a story I could have made up in my mind when playing on my own as a child, save for the occasional nightmare fuel. Also, fun choice of engine. (My nephew is going to be so proud of me when he hears that I have tried Roblox!)

Now, I think I'll give my buddy a call.

And here I thought roblox were some competitor to legos! I would have skipped the onerous install process but you're SO CLOSE to getting the 20 that I couldn't just walk away. Hope you cross the finish line in time!

This was a fun little experience. I enjoyed that I could restart the dialog and test various paths through the short bits of clever prose. I also dug the charmingly severe transitions between environments. It put to rest the question of which is a scarier hell: the spooky creepy gross bug kind, or the one with puppies. No contest.

I was determined to find some glitch to escape Heck, as I could see outside the walls with the camera. But those colliders were too strong. I tried glitching into a superjump by getting stuck between the two signs but that also refused to work.

The best I could do was walk left and right very quickly around this spot here, which triggered a restart to the torture-music and provided some much-needed tranquility:

Respect for throwing away your usual engines to try out something new, and nice work!

@xatulu @dpmzi @pkenney holy moly, thank you all so much for pushing this one over the finish line. And props to you all for being open-minded about Roblox -- whether you like it or not (and I don't, really).
