I played it before reading the description and thought it was slooow and then BOOM Coffee happened and everything made sense. Also my coffee ran out mid jump and I fell to my death and that was the most relatable moment from this Jam so far lol. I like the effects that kick in after coffee and the arrows that point you in the right direction. Good choices! One thing I would add would be the ability to "Push Down". Like opposite jump because sometimes you jump too far and just wait for the character to come back down. Could give the player more "control" :)
The take on the theme here is pretty *dare I say* deep, so that's good, and the music's pretty decent, too. I don't know about the platforming, though. The jump is incredibly floaty, and I found myself spending most of my time waiting for him to land.
Nice game! The movement seems to be a little like you are stuck in jello. I need some coffee now ;-)
Great use of modifying game mechanics to depict addiction. Making the base speed lower the more coffee you drink is a great way to showcase the effects. It might be helped even more if the more you drink, the less of an effect it has, and the more you have to drink to get back to that high. Great work all!
interestig mechanic, i find it really fun both to play and because of humor, thanks to a very cool coffee drinking animation. Nice job. One problem though is the music, it has some weird issues and it makes it hard to listen to, which is sad because it fits the game pretty well.

Hello, interesting mechanic, I chuckled when I first picked that coffe. If I may, I would try to make the controlls more responsive, I think I spent more time in air then on ground, even tho I didnt want to. Maybe boost gravity or make some "stop" mechanic for player to use when he wants down.
I liked the transformation that your character went through over the course of the game. The hand drawn graphics had a certain charm to them. Edgar starts so chipper!
It was a little frustrating to fall off a cliff midway through the game and then have to start all the way from the beginning again. Maybe a checkpoint system? I understand that is a little counter to the message of the game, but maybe there is a compromise or something?

When he turned into a caffeineless zombie I rofl'd. Very cool concept with this game. Deeper and deeper into caffeine addiction.
It was also very weird not having the controls be WASD. Using Q threw me off at first
Good sounds and cute game. The controls could use some polishing to really make the game feel tight. My best tip would be to allow the player to still jump when they have JUST gotten off a platform since it can be pretty hard/unintuitive to time the jumps right without sliding off platforms otherwise. Coffee was funny. :)
