trees are covering the text :D
Adding yourselves was a nice little touch.
Love how intuitive the conversation system works, just walk up and away you go! Found myself often aimlessly wandering rather than moving with purpose based on clues, but overall great work!
I like the idea, would love to see this game it wasn't part of a Jam, but rather a fully developed thing!
Interesting murder mystery. Short and sweet.
Always a fan of dialogue systems that don't freeze your character in place; was a really nice touch.
Also, the urban environment looks great given the time allotted!
I enjoyed the environment that the game setup. I also like dialog systems that don't lock your characters movement, it keeps a good pace.
It turns out you can write a good murder mistery in couple of days. Will I turn purple too after developing games for too long? :D
Wow, I'm normally not the biggest fan of story based games, but this got me hooked somehow. The story is awesome and the different "voices" make it really easy to differentiate between different characters. I like the small easter egg of putting yourself into the game - and yes, writing a crime story in a few days is hard, but you did a really awesome job with this!
This game looks great and the murder mystery was actually really engaging. My one note would be to have some key press forward the message for fast (and mostly impatient) readers like myself
Hey there,
I'm sorry, that the following review is not that positive, but I try to leave honest reviews, otherwise you could not improve next time.
I don't know if bug or feature, but nearly every texture in the game was flickering. Also the feet of the main character tend to submerge into the textures - even on solid underground.
The dialogs were sometimes behind the trees, which made them very hard to read. As a non native english speaker for me it was hard to determine, if some sentences had gramatically errors, or if that is valid slang, but some dialogs felt off.
Also don't know if bug or feature, but the lighting effect on buildings/walls seems weird, so there is a bright circle on walls, when walking near to them.
As walking between & behind houses is possible - although maybe not intended? It would have been nice, to have some possibility to actually see the character. I have attached a screenshot to showcase that problem:

The music loop is very short, but the music itself matches the general athmosphere
And as a last thing, I'm not sure, what part of the game met the theme.
Creepy game, I like it. The color palette is quite nice, and the levitating avatar feels weirdly enjoyable. Just a minor detail, sometimes the dialogs overlap with the trees and are difficult to read.
Had some trouble on my end getting this to run but really like the concept
Overall an interesting little story. Well done.
