The art is really cute and the soundtrack was enjoyable to listen to, one thing I feel can be improved upon would be instructions or explanations on what certain resources are and what not, instead of throwing the player straight into the game blind(unless I missed it, then I apologize!) Overall it was cute and fun

I very much like it. It is very polished and i'm amazed how nice "money free" mechanics work. This is some innovation in the tower defense genre. Balancing the damage output with the health of your base is very interesting. Chillers are kinda op in my opinion but i still wasn't able to absolutely break the game using them. One of the best games i've seen so far. Thanks for making it :)
@2rek @okolyr Thanks for the input. Chillers saw a nerf shortly before we declared we were finished. I'm happy that the mono-chiller strategy wasn't the most effective.

took me longer than i care to admit to figure out what spots were available to place towers. would have helped to indicate the spots / instruct a little more clearly. only figured out it was the slightly dark spots after randomly clicking around the screen for a while trying to find a spot that worked. would also have been nice to better understand the effects/stats of each tower in order to increase the sense of player agency/mastery possible. nice riff on the tower defense genre tho!
@miej Darn! We almost put that change in!

Pretty good! I liked playing it, it would be nice if the shadows on the ground were more obvious i kept searching for places i could put towers. There seems to be a bug where the ice melted at 5,000 / 10,000, which seemed a bit earlier than expected. Overall very good work!

Amazing work! As the waves progressed I noticed more and more details such as: - The towers produce heat, which is a nice idea in this context. - The player can use hotkeys to select menu functions and place towers. - The enemy come with varied speed and in different types in later waves.
It really shows how much work you put into it, and I really enjoyed protecting the ice life :penguin: :fish: :sunglasses:
The only thing I'd mention: I also think it would be nice to have a more clear indicator on where I can place my towers.
the art style is great love to see a 2D + 3D, would be cool more levels or some way to increase the place to put the towers, i loved the sounds effects, great job!

Positives: - Cute art style, and the minimal animations on the characters works well with it. - I liked the music track, more on that later - Trying to balance heat while also trying to fend off the enemies is an interesting challenge, there is a lot of depth there - Watching my big round friends slowly sink into the sea broke me.
Critiques: - While a super cool track, I don't know if the music fit the theme of the game _super_ well, something ominous might have fit the feel of the gameplay. - As mentioned above, the possible placements for defenses are not super clear, but after figuring it out it's not too big of a hurdle. - Would probably help to add some clarity as to what the different "towers" do. The names helps, but there is still some ambiguity there that makes figuring out a strategy more difficult.
Overall, really impressed with this game. The core gimmick is a really interesting twist on tower defense, and there are cool ways to make it work. Riding the razors edge between survival while trying to not kill yourself by over-extending, there's a lot you can do with that, and is a bit more interesting than just a currency-based building system.
Thanks for all the input everyone!

Pros: The idea in how you gain heat with more towers you have is very interesting. On top of that, the game ran smoothly for the most part and the soundtrack was good in accordance to the atmosphere of the game. And although I'm not sure, but I believe the ice is getting smaller with how much Ice Life there is, and that was a cool feature to add.
Cons: I don't see how the game goes with the theme of jam that much, I could be overlooking it entirely. I didn't know what I was doing at first so I believe adding a quick Image that would tell the player what to do would be a great feature to add.
Overall, the game was fun and I enjoyed the management of more than just simply putting towers down. This is a game you could definitely build off of if you wanted to do more in the future. Good job!
wow, i dont usualy play tower defence games but I found myself getting sucked into this one. good job my dudes!

Nice implementation of a tower defence game. I've always been a sucker for these so it was fun playing with your little twist to the mechanics. Took a little time before I understood what the different towers do. Anyways, solid submission.
Wow! Great tower defense game!

I'm not sure how this ties with the theme but, nonetheless, It is a decent tower defense game and I had fun playing.
I particularly liked the damage animations and cute background characters. The gameplay could maybe use a little introduction as otherwise it isn't easy to figure out what the perks and disadvantages of the different towers are. Nice game!
The graphics are adorable. I like the different abilities, and the music and sounds fit well. Over all enjoyable. Just needed a way to adjust the sound. Also I am not sure this fit the theme of the jam.
@dobrila @lelulagames Thanks for playing. The theme idea was that as you melt the ice, the water gets deeper.
Really cool tower defense game! graphics, music and the mood are amazing. Great work!
Very cute concept! Love it
