I think this game is stunningly beautiful. It's also pretty fun and at times exciting. I felt myself tensing up at some of the more precise jumps. It is my favourite ld game this far. Great Work!

Graphically the game is beautiful, and the audio is just so relaxing, I love it. One thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the lack of a typical jump, as it meant levels would need to be restarted for a simple thing such as accidentally walking off the edge, I did find the drill jump to be a cool idea! It would be good if you mentioned that being a thing in the game as it took me a while to work out that it was. Great work! :D
@gamesbysaul I made no jump, because I interpreted the theme like this: Because, you've no jump you can only go deeper and deeper into the cave, and I got inspired by the mix between platformer and a bit of puzzle in Nintendo's Captain Toad.
A very pleasant game, I passed it in one sitting) Block jump mechanic reminded Shovel Knight, Great job!
nice art !
this looks, sounds and feels amazing. 5 stars all around.
I loved this art style! Very chill and the music complemented it well. Once I got the hang of it, the drill mechanic was cool. However, it would've been nice if there weren't any areas where you got stuck. It's nice that a restart feature is built in, but it turns the levels into a trial and error kind of approach for the player. I think as a simple improvement, I would just put spikes wherever a player could get stuck. That way they die instead of getting frustrated and having to restart and it becomes a smoother experience and faster gameplay loop. Great job on this!
This game is gorgeous! when you start chaining drill bops it feels great too. There were a could of bits that felt a little unfair where i couldnt see i was going the wrong way until is was too late so maybe just having the player higher up on the screen would be cool? The quick restarts made it never get frustrating though. Great job!
Amazing entry, great graphics and sound. Combining having no jump with the use of the drilling rebound felt fresh and fun, loved the feel of nailing a level on the first try. The one negative i can think of is how some situations you can't truly see you are getting yourself in bad position making failing there a bit too random, when you could avoid the obstacles with pure reflexes was when I enjoyed it the most. Good job!
This game was great! The art style was very cohesive and the sound design very atmospheric. The platforming was fun, even if some jump drill parts were not that consistent. The amount of levels in the game was respectable and they were designed well. My only complaint is that many levels seemed to have "gotcha" moments, where you just had to guess where to jump, and if you guessed wrong, you had to start again from the beginning. Overall very good job!
That game was truly great ! The art style and music are really, really good. Gameplay-wise, the concept is interesting and quite unique. I am astonished by the fact that this is a game jam entry, it really feels like was could be a real indie game on Steam !
In fact, I can only find two major flaws for this game: - I don't understand the controls, that was uselessly complicated. "Down" does nothing on it own, neither do "space" (at least, while grounded), why do I need to do a button combination (down + space) to realise the single most used action of the game ? And, even worse, why does that changes while in the air (only "space") ? It's the same action, it should be bound to the same unique button ! Why can't I have "down = drill" everytime ? - The level design was overall great. You first introduced new mechanics in a safe environment, and then use those mechanics in a dangerous puzzle, this is really good. With that, when I died, it was always my fault, it never felt unfair. That was until some later rooms with blind jumps : the camera didn't scroll low enough to see what was there and I had to blindly jump and die to know what to do. THAT felt unfair. A puzzle is something where the player has all the pieces in hand, and he is only blocked by his ability to bring them together. But if you hide crucial information, the puzzle is rigged and it's frustrating.
Now, I don't want to sound harsh, keep in mind that this is a GREAT game, and I really enjoyed it ! But its greatness highlighted these little flaws ^^.
@metalfox-dioxymore the fact that you‘ve to press down and space/ x is because I before had a side drill attack, which you did with space /x only, when on the ground, but I scrapped this in the end and I had no time to change the controls.
I wish there was a jump to make things a bit easier. Or jumping after drilling could be higher. I love the visuals and audio. Such a beautiful game!
Great game!
I loved the art and the music. All the audio and visual feedback on interactions felt great. The level design and balance are very good. Also the game is quite short, which is good for a game jam!
I agree with MetalFox on their two points: - the controls felt a bit wrong. - there were some unfair bits in the level design. However I feel they were rare!
Thanks for the game I had fun.
Apart from some tiny level design changes to make (due to unfairness), your game is beautiful and well made. Bravo !
This game very intresting
