Shame I'm not seeing any ratings on this one so far, it's not the most home run take on the theme, but this is a really solid platformer mechanically. My only wish, aside from the obvious post-jam polish, would be to have movement on the arrow keys with space to jump, rather than face keys, just for the sake of ease. Really like this!
The grapple mechanics around the circle is cool and fun. I like to see more with it, your level design is interesting and challenging. So you can make a good game, just upgrade graphics and put sound and it's on the way. Great work for only 30 hours, you have a solid prototype here.

@sindri , thanks for the feedback, I'm also looking forward to releasing a post jam version ^^.
I'm glad that the main mechanics are more, I wanted to test it for a long time and I told myself that this was the moment even if it doesn't exploit the theme to the fullest.
the addition of arrows is a very good idea indeed.

thank you very much @robowarrior1982 :)
I'm currently on a post jam version to polish the project as well as to add art and sound.
A new Type of innovation in a 2D Platformer......grapling hook type setup.....Loved the mechanics.....This mechanics has a great scope of dodging in a 2D platformer.. Great Game....
Very fun game with some solid level design! I died a ton in the last couple levels but I really enjoyed it! I think there is a lot of potential here for more platforming mechanics like buttons or moving platforms that could work well with the movement. At times I think it could be a bit hard to tell which direction you're going to grapple in. Nice work!
Nice game! Very fun to play and polished gameplay. I hope you get more ratings! I miss some graphics, but great entry overall :)
Really wanted to use the controller on this one, but there was a weird issue where with the jump/hook button, I think my game suffered the same issue when I tried exporting to HTML5, but the issue didn't arise in the local build. Anyhow it was as if onButtonDown events where being thrown for a what was really a buttonDown. So even if I tap jump (A on XB1 controller) not matter how fast I tap it if I am within range of a grapple point I attached and dettach in rapid succession.
So onto the keyboard. Once I switched to keyboard things moved more smoothly, controls felt pretty tight, I was able to bounce around and grab some keys. I like that the grapple points alert you to when you are within range. Sometimes the direction of my swing from the grapple point felt counter intuitive, I expected my velocity to continue to be carried in the direction of travel, but it seemed like the anchor point had a pre determined rotation direction. If that is the case it would be nice if the visual of the anchor was rotating in the direction it was going to swing you so I can better anticipate what is to come.
Sound effects, is there no sound? sound effects could do a lot.
All in all an entertaining entry. Well Done!
Too difficult for me to play, but I appreciate the idea! Also I like this cube and animation, it gives fun when he moves. And sound could make it really juicy.

Nice entry!
I liked more the idea than the execution though, I don't seem to be able to feel comfortable with the exiting of the loop and that tarnishes the mechanical fun a bit but that's something you can polish!
· I suggest to either let the player control the exit trajectory a bit better by sharing forces between the loop and one that you can apply with your gamepad/keyboard, so it feels more in-control.
Other than that I liked it and it is a solid theme interpretation, good job!

@raz3ll Merci beaucoup :) Et merci pour la traduction xD, j'imagine que je suis catégoriser comme le petit franchouillard, comme ça je ne déroge pas a mon rôle habituelle ^^
Nice game! I recommend you to improve the feeling of getting out of the circle but I had a good time in general.

Enjoyed the swinging mechanics and there are some nice extra touches like the trail behind the player.
Would be nice to be able to adjust how far out from the centre you're looping and a few sounds but I appreciate it's tough to get it all done in 30 hours.
All in all a good entry, nice one!

Hey! Nice idea and fits the theme well enough :) The art is very basic and the missing audio is a shame but it's still a fun ride. The controls well work enough and after getting the hang of the quirks, it was actually pretty find. I ran into the same issue, that @kaiomoi encountered, where the rotation direction was not easily manipulable which lead to quick frustrations regarding the level design, which clearly required you to choose the rotation deliberately. That could me off guard and quickly took me out of the fun I had. Would be a good idea to communicate such mechanics beforehand in a safe environment for the player to avoid frustration.
Still, a good game! Nice prototoype and jam entry.
Really cool mechanic, and way to exploit it with the level design! Two things I'd be interested to know if you tested: having the grapple be a hold instead of a press, for a little more precision, and whether grapple and jump should be the same button. Great work overall!

Fun gameplay although a little tricky on some levels. I enjoyed playing although would have enjoyed some music to create a mood.
Really like the concept. The direction of the swing can be unpredictable. Good game!
