Fun little twin stick shooter. I laughed when I saw a trumpet attack. Music was cool.
Killed my enemies by doot-dooting 'em to the death 10/10
But seriously, weapons are kinda random. Also most enemies didn't responded to my presence, which was weird.
Pretty neat game. I liked the idea, but the gutair felt way worse then the other two.
I liked your game my congratulations, I also did one if you want to know, and give me your feedback I am very grateful, this is the link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/resurrection
I liked it, good graphics and i like the mechanic of the weapons
Love the weapons! My favorite has to be the record, it's just so versatile :D
The music is very nice and the aesthetics fit the game. Controls were also great.
I felt the game was a bit too easy though. I was able to plow through enemies like they weren't even there ^^
This reminded me of an ancient ZX-Spectrum game called Storm, for that alone points are awarded. I also liked the design of the bot.
I like the graphics and that you added a boss fight. My favorite weapon was the trumpet because the others pretty much sucked hahaha Don't see how it fits the theme though
Cool idea! As a musician I can bet you sometimes I´d smash a guitar against my dear bandmates (if it didn´t break of course!). The audio was good, worked with the night club concept. The graphics are very good as well. And the gameplay was quite entertaining, I really enjoyed it. The best weapon is the recorder, the guitar needs to feel a bit better. The game needs some polish (it´s great for a jam though) but has potential. Nice work!
Nice work, I enjoyed myself and the changing weapons. Good stuff. Would have been sweet to have some death animations on those enemies. The record had some great capt america vibes.
Nice game!
I liked this game! Pretty good graphics, especially the player and enemy models, and a good get concise selection of weapons! It was fun to play although I would have liked the normal enemies to be more aggressive towards the player and the weapons could have been more indicative as to their attack effects (range etc). The menu was good to see and the game was very fun to play! I always enjoy these top down shooters! Great job!
Edit: Great interpretation of the theme!
Nice graphics! It looks like they're actually 3D assets; tilting the camera down a little and turning on perspective could've made a big difference in presentation.
Good gameplay too! I like the different weapons. I'm sure more enemies would've let me experiment more but I appreciate having a big boss fight, too.
The weapon sounds are quite high pitched and much louder than the background music. I'd recommend a lower pitch in general. I've run into this issue myself when using synthesized sounds. Testing on a variety of speakers/headphones helps. Laptop speakers really make this sorta thing hard to notice!
I liked that you went for an audio concept! I haven't seen as many of those. I don't think I was able to pick up on the cues when the weapons would switch, but the idea that I had to use what I was given definitely changed my play style. My favorite was definitely the record (I felt like Captain America!).
With more time to work on the game, I would suggest focusing on "juice" like the impact from weapons firing or enemies getting hit. Those are pretty simple to add but can be very effective in giving the player a sense of impact, which is very satisfying.
Great work!
The trumpet weapon was hilarious lol I had fun playing but I think it'd be better if the enemies were slightly more difficult and fought back more.
The doot gun is amazing ahah, the guitar though is terrible lol. I enjoyed the game, but it felt a bit short. A few more levels with a couple more enemies would be neat ^^.
