If you don't use q and z in your game, you can assign them to left and up, so that azerty keyboards don't have to change layout to play the game ;)
I still don't understand how to collect the batteries, and I'm surrounded by them :joy: Nice original mechanic, good job!
Nice game! The fake 3d part makes it a bit confusing when you're touching the balloon but eventually I got the hang of it. The game is challenging. I like how you need to constantly think what part to power up. Good job!
By the way, I don't think that the game works for keyboard. I"m not able to move Tim. Both A/D and Arrow keys move the balloon instead.
The game seem very good and the controls are great but i can't collect anything so die pretty quickly ^^
It looks very nice and pleasing! Unfortunately it has a pretty high learning curve. It was difficult to tell which key to use to go in which direction to collect the balloons on the z axis. It's a really go idea though!
Great game, but i keep falling for some reason... (Yes, i know that is because i haven't heated my baloon, and Yes, I done the tutorial, but honestly i haven't still propely understand how to heat the baloon up...)
The hot-air balloon controls are cool, and the feedback sounds help well for the immersion in it !
The graphic style is very good, I found that it looks like Paper Mario. However, it was hard for me to retrieve the balloon in the background, I don't know exactly if I could get them or not, sometimes it worked, but most of the time I couldn't take them.
But, overall, nice work, moreover, I think that if you fix the issue with the depth, it will improve the game easily !
thank you for all your feedback! Considering the problems that you have reported to me I am making available a "corrected" version of the game which I hope will be easier to understand !
Wow that game is very good, but I think character should be move with arrows, and ballon with A/D. Graphic is Lovely as music :)
I couldn't really play it because i wasn't sure how to wrap my head around the '3D aspect of it' but it had nice art and sounds! It's probably just user error haha
Sorry but I cannot see any download link or browser game in your itch.io page. Let me know if you upload it again!
@naca thank you for your message, i fixed it up !
Good game for a first jam ! Congreat
The 3D is a little bit confusing and the tutorial is too slow. I don't know how you manage the apparition of ballon, but sometimes I don't have any ballon left on the screen.
I like this one a lot, the art is simple but neat and the gameplay is really unique probably one of my favorites for this jam
Thank yous so much @skitzogamer ! @absoluteds yes you're right i wasn't able to find a good way for spawning the balloons fairly. Thank you for your comment !
Cool gameplay - controls are easy to pick up. Fun to play
Lovely music, I really liked the 3D movement. Not very clear if I was picking up the balloons or not, even when they went yellow.
Reaching the top of the sky was a slight challenge, getting used to the controls and all. Reaching the top of the top of the sky though... Now that's a challenge, but for a different reason. I managed to get up to Balloon.jpg and then got struck by boredom.
The controls could use tweaking. Moving Tim with the arrow keys and filling the balloon with the up arrow would have been much more intuitive. This kind of a dual stick scheme would work on a pad too.
I would also suggest pulling the camera back (rendering everything smaller), adding in some obstacles to avoid (birds, hovering platforms, mines, what have you!) and reducing the hot air balloon resource drain accordingly.
Yeah, pretty ok job in all.
Finally played it... and I've been playing for quite a while! Reached 3000m (normal mode) I loved the way the balloon is fueled and moved in x and z axis, always keeping an eye on each gauge. Great idea and great execution.
As others have commented, the control scheme for keyboard is a bit weird. Holding space to move Tim is not comfortable and I would prefer using Q and E or arrow keys. Great job anyway!
Nice game! I liked the paper art style and interesting gameplay! But tutorial was too hard for me and I didn't understand how to play :cat: Enjoined plaing it!
