simple timing game, but fun and effective. i liked the music, graphics, and mood. nice samurai feeling.

Super fun, and the mood was amazing. If you actually managed to make all of the art yourself within the 72 hours, I'm wildly impressed with it. The mood works, and it's a really good atmosphere altogether - not to mention the feel the music goes to make.

@copito Sure. You simply hit space-bar when the pink flower touches the ground. To fast and it's a draw, to slow and the assassin wins. hope that clears it up for you.

Love the feel. It would have been nice to see the petals falling in curves, though, rather than straight lines back and forth. Small touch but would have conveyed the feeling of falling flowers/leaf on the wind so much more.

Awesome premise! I loved the art and music and testing my reaction time was super fun. The different areas also brought a nice bit of diversity when playing.

This art style really caught my eye, unfortunately I don't have windows. If you have the ability you should really make a Web build.

What a lovely ink art. What were your tools? Wacom + Krita / PS ? Mechanics looks fresh but not sure that it reflects the theme. Maybe after too early rapid sword hit there could be some effect added to game indicating that the player cannot make any movement anymore. I wonder, why my samurai got halfed? :laughing: It's so cruel and violent. :laughing:

P.S. Although the game was windows-exe the game started just fine on my Ubuntu via WINE tool. Thanks for game again!

before i say anything i just want to point out that the art is absolutely phenomenal, and you should have included the humor category because i found it hilarious the way they slice and half and moan like old men. from a strictly game play perspective though the game felt a little to punishing (not referring to difficulty but how difficulty is treated). im not sure if i was supposed to slice right after the shadow was invisible or a little afterwards and how much leniency i would get but it really felt like i hit it right on time somtimes or maybe a millisecond off and it ended in a draw or death. fun submission and was overall fun to play

I had some trouble with this game. I really like the concept, though I felt that a lot of the playtime could have been trimmed by having the blossom start a lot closer to the ground, or fall faster in the first few seconds. about 80-90 percent of the game time was just waiting for the blossom to get near enough to start concentrating. I thought the graphical style was nice, but really would have appreciated a font and colour that was more readable. The timings were pretty brutal (0.05s???) so I never beat the last samurai. With a few tweaks, I think this could have been a lot more fun. Thanks for the game!

I kind of wish the pink blossoms would have fallen to the ground faster. It felt really slow waiting on it. The art, however, was pretty dang great.

I've feld like an old samurai in a good samurai battle. The background is gorgeous and the all assets fit the concept of the game. Simple and Good job!

This was really neat :) I love the character and background art and the simple concept made for a chill 15 minutes. I would complement the music but I saw your previous comment so I'll complement your choice in music. Though it would have been nice to have it play the whole time rather than restarting with every click. Good work!

Nice game! One thing I would add to the ones already mentioned is it would be nice to have the target time displayed if you end up being too slow (in addition to showing it when you hit space too early).
