Looks great and I love the music! I had some trouble when i selected a robot as it wouldn't let me select any others after.

@cannedveg Hey Cannedveg! Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!! I definitely got some feedback IRL that more instructions would've been nice to aid in completing it, so you're not alone in being a little confused. It's something I'll certainly keep in mind for my next Ludum Dare to spend a little more time on!

Not sure if this is allowed, but I'll add it as a little note here that clicking on the tabletop lets you put items back down!

jaschez 2020-04-21 00:44

Thats a really good interesting concept! Shows great potential overall!

bloodpulpgames 2020-04-21 00:45

really nice art

boltzmannsbud 2020-04-21 00:48

Love the graphics and the idea. I managed to get the middle robot a new screen and two batteries but I couldn't figure out how to use the power cable.

alessia-ip 2020-04-21 00:49

Thanks @jaschez and @bloodpulpgames !! I appreciate the nice feedback!

alessia-ip 2020-04-21 00:51

Hey @boltzmannsbud ! Thanks for the nice feedback! I definitely wonder if maybe I made the win condition a little too specific. While I don't want to spoil anything for people who might pop by, maybe after the conclusion of the jam I'll post the solution!

fiakaiera 2020-04-21 00:55

I solved it pretty quickly. It's a nice experience! It's like a portion of an escape room puzzle, except the puzzle is about not escaping but fixing a robot instead. I love the twist at the end too!

The note for clicking the tabletop helps a lot after that feedback from cannedveg. As for me I only wish the turning would be faster. Turning up and down felt weird too. It should feel like turning items left or right. This is very apparent when the item is at an awkward diagonal angle.

As for the theme, it's not so apparent here. It would be if there was a timer involved to fix it before it completely dies.

The game does show potential overall. Would love to see this flourish! Good job~

I like this! The robot designs are cute. The “figure out what’s wrong with this and where I can get the parts from” concept is solid—I would definitely play an expanded version of it. Nice work.

alessia-ip 2020-04-21 01:19

Hi @fiakaiera ! I really appreciate the in-depth feedback, and I definitely agree on the points you made! A timer was definitely something I considered, and that was cut for time (ironically).

If you liked the game, I definitely recommend Assemble with Care, which I realized afterwards uses a sort of similar mechanic!

alessia-ip 2020-04-21 01:20

@mahalis Thank you for the kind feedback! I think I was sort of subconsciously inspired by BMO design wise! Very simple, and yet very cute!

team-on 2020-04-21 18:20

Nice and challenging point and click quest, but you should specify what player need to do. I was stuck how to place robot back

alessia-ip 2020-04-22 00:05

@team-on Thanks for the feedback!! Definitely got that suggestion from a few people! I added it to the itch page for now - and I'll keep it in mind for the next jam!

annie-owl 2020-04-22 20:40

What a sweet little puzzle game  Very well made for a first jam project!

alessia-ip 2020-04-23 01:28

Thanks @annie-owl ! I appreciate the kind feedback! Not my first game, but a game jam is definitely a different kind of pressure haha I feel like I learned a lot!

alaah 2020-04-23 22:29

I'm confused. Is it over after "Process complete. Thank you"? If so, it should close the game or be a bit clearer.

alessia-ip 2020-04-24 03:30

Thanks for the feedback @alaah !! Yes, that is the end!

god-colo 2020-04-24 06:43

The art is nice! It was fun to play but I could not really figure out how to use the power cable! Greato Jobu!

necrofear 2020-04-24 06:46

Pretty cool puzzle. Looks are good, I like the color choices! Was a little confused on how to access parts on the tray at first, but found the slide out menu after a few clicks.

beelzeboss 2020-04-24 06:47

Very creative idea. Well done!

blushine 2020-04-24 07:06

Cute robots. I successfully repaired it, but at what cost? I wish I could repair all 3. Reminds me of the game Assemble With Care. I think the mouse and keyboard interface is a bit unintuitive. Something that's nice about Assemble With Care is that you play the whole game with a touchscreen. I think the theme isn't really used in the game. Have you ever tried replacing the save battery in a gameboy cartridge? It's tricky because if the cartridge fully loses power it will erase your save data. You can't just remove the battery, you have to hook up a backup power supply first, then replace it. Something like that would be interesting, where you have to work to keep the robot alive while you're also repairing it. Overall, it's a nice little experience. I didn't mind trying to play around with the interface a bit to figure out how to repair it properly.

alessia-ip 2020-04-25 02:03

Thank you @god-colo , @necrofear , and @beelzeboss !

alessia-ip 2020-04-25 02:05

@blushine I was reminded more of it after I finished the jam (and recommended it further up the comment list because it's a very good game)!

I LOVE your idea so much - never replaced one myself because it's so nerve wracking! That would've been a neat idea, and I totally didn't think about it!!

louis-denizet 2020-04-25 09:19

had fun manipulating the robots and trying to find what to fix, good idea ;)

alessia-ip 2020-04-25 21:04

Thank you @louis-denizet! Glad you enjoyed it!

jspacek 2020-04-28 02:47

Cute! Short and sweet :) Definitely reminds me of the old "escape room" Flash puzzle games.

The rotation was a tiny bit strange-feeling - normally I think one expects that left-right rotation (A and D keys) will be around the axis that's a vertical line top-to-bottom of the screen, rather than the viewer-to-screen line? Hope that makes sense :P

I only had music for the title screen, not sure if that was a bug on my end?

Yeah, once again, short and sweet ^^

beats 2020-05-03 04:47

this was an enjoyable, the robots reminded me of beemo.
