The title screen is sooo cute ! I made a bad score (11 or Something). My main issue is the game is not exciting enough. Maybe by adding some coins to collect that are risky just between some butter. Or adding the speed from time to time so the player has to be really concentrated during these phases =)

hakunasoft 2020-04-25 03:52

Hey, thanks for you comment! About increase speed from time to time, I've tried but because of short period of jam didn't had enough time to make it work. And about coins or some collectibles, I could really think about implement it in another version of the game, since the jam version has no time to change or add anything, but I will consider all these suggestions. Thank you again for the suggestions, and thanks for playing my game!

That was pretty fun! I really liked your art assets and music, but wish the bounding boxes on the player/enemies were smaller. For an endless runner type game, I would recommend placing the player to the left side of the screen rather than the middle to allow the player more time to prepare for obstacles. I would also recommend that you make it more obvious how many lives the player has left. Otherwise, this is a fun little game with a decent amount of polish. Also, by the way, the title screen buttons are not aligned when played in full-screen. The quit button hovers somewhere in the top right corner while the player button is around the center.

Kinda dull gameplay, but very cute! Background music was pleasant and fit the theme well. Gameplay-wise I couldn't find much reason to play more than a couple times. I'm not sure it ties into the "keep it alive" theme very well, and there didn't seem to be much to do other than go up and down in a very limited space until too many "double move" butter waves spawned in a row.

Good job! Game was very simple. After 10 seconds, you have seen everything! I lasted over 100 seconds and the timer at the top right was rendering off the screen haha.

That was really fun. I am not very good and so kept hitting the evil butters, but I think it would be a really fantastic mobile game! Maybe that could be next!

hakunasoft 2020-04-27 01:34

Thank you all for all your comments and ratings about the game, I'm really looking foward to make the game even better, and I've been awarned of some bugs that have been occuring, such as @shadoninja have mentioned, the score cutted off screen, and as @gal-afik as well, of the quit button moving to much of the place where it should be. It was my first 2D game ever and the first game i made on Unity. I appreciate you all for giving me all this feedback, and be sure that I'll try to launch some fixes to make the game even better and ever more polished that I can. And soon I'll be porting the game to a mobile version @instanti8, so stay tuned soon for upcoming updates!

Version 0.2.0 Patch is live! Come test it and see the new features!

The gameplay is pretty simple, but the particle effects and the title art are good. It would be nice if it started a bit easier. One way to do that would be to make it so that for the first ten or twenty seconds there weren't any jumps of two lanes.

rjhelms 2020-05-02 17:25

Great art. Not bad for a first crack at Unity!

To echo @gal-afik's feedback comment, tweaking the bounding boxes a bit would add quite a bit of polish. I feel like it should be more forgiving when you hit an enemy on the "back", in particular.

marie-launhardt 2020-05-02 17:29

The art is cute. Love the idea.

jantunes 2020-05-02 17:30

The game has an overall cool feel, I really like the assets and music. Gameplay is simple and easy to understand. However, it lacks a sense of progression. It would be cool if it started easier and then got increasingly harder, as well as introducing different types of hazards. Either way, cool effort for your first Unity game! Keep it on

Oh, one other thing: for whatever reason, the direct link to the Web version didn't work for me. Just took me to a blank white page - going to the web version through the landing page worked fine though. Could be something on my end!

epb9000 2020-05-08 03:25

@rjhelms Looks like a session type token. It probably expired. Anyone else looking for it should do the same - just access from the gamejolt landing page and launch the player from there.

epb9000 2020-05-08 03:32

I'd definitely second shrinking the hitboxes a little, given input lag it's pretty unforgiving. "Responsive" is not a word with which I would describe my laptop's keyboard. Aside from that, a nice silly entry. I could easily see this being a I'm-bored-in-the-grocery-line type of game if you worked out touchscreen controls.

hakunasoft 2020-05-08 20:35

New link for html version added, it can ben played on itch.io on the web browser now! But if you want to, you can play it at Gamejolt page web version as well!

I like the art of the cover, you should reuse it in the game.

The base gameplay works well, but the difficulty is too hard, you should make it more progressive. Particles effects are nice. Add more animations on enemies to make the game more juicy.

Good job.

james-7777 2020-05-12 14:44

Really cute art! I thought the game was a bit too hard as the gap between rows of enemies was very small, so it required really precise input timing to avoid damage.

doot 2020-05-12 15:06

Great job!

I really liked the simplicity of the game. The art is very good and the music and sounds are nice. The controls feel responsive.

Too bad the scoring system is not really working (continues after death), it would have me try a few more time.

Thanks for the game!

The art is really cute, I loved it! The concept is also very simple and easy to grasp. It was a little boring though, maybe adding some collectables or varying the obstacles would make it more interesting. I would also add more space between the obstacles too, moving from the top row to the bottom without getting damaged was sometimes nearly impossible. A good effort :)
