Pretty similar to my entry, but I still had some fun! Thought the darkening of the arena was a nice touch.
An image would help. Someone reminded me so I am playing it forward. You also might want to rename your downloadable from LudumDareGame to your own name since once I download it, it becomes one of many LD games and will be hard to find later.
Cool start. I think possibly my favorite feature in any jam game so far that I have seen was how your eyes followed the mouse. Great effect that adds a lot of feedback and characterization.
Art was nice. I found the fire burned out really quick especially with only 3 wood slots. I'm sure you have lots of ideas for things you can do next.

Fun and entertaining, and sweet animations/effects! Adding some sort of score or difficulty increase could perhaps increase the fun factor even more.

Great game, really interesting composition. There was almost some good counterpoint there, but it kinda fell flat, making an interesting idea repetitive and jarring. The mixing and instrument choice could use some work too.
I'm not sure why there was a sword and an axe, since the axe seemed to function perfectly well as a sword? I'd either specialize them more, or simplify them into one item.
The inventory system was neat, but it was a little strange doing some minecraft-style slot-scrolling to accomplish the relatively simple task of dumping a few logs.
The difficulty curve was a bit flat, I'd either make the fire die faster, at an increasing speed, or increase the threat of monsters to distract from the fire.
Ultimately, very good looking, and a couple systems were very well made. Cute as hell, and as someone else said before me the animated eyes thing does wonder for the game juice.
I really like @brenno263's suggestion of making the fire die faster over time, as a way to ramp up the difficulty. The main gameplay loop here is pretty solid - but once you get the hang of it there's not much more.
Interesting concept with limited inventory for wood made me to have some sort of stratagy planning. For more challenge would be nice adding more monsters and making them a bit faster. P.S - character's eyes are the best )
Nice work! I ended up playing for quite a while! It was fun to have several different tasks competing for your time-- chopping trees, collecting wood to fuel the fire while fighting off the enemies. The only thing I would suggest is making it a bit more clear about how to ultimately win-- e.g., a countdown timer if are you trying to survive for a certain amount of time, or a boss to defeat (as you already mentioned), etc. In other words, what comes next after figuring out the basic survival mechanics?

Great work, solid execution. This certainly wasn't the game I was expecting from the screen shots. I was expecting something a little more explore oriented rather than wave fighting based. Still, it works well for what it is. Easy enough to play, but still starts to ramp up in difficulty. I could see this begin a fun "flash game" with a few more mechanics.
