You should probably make it more fastpaced
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD46 → The Apocalypse: Your Fired

I really loved the music, it's sad that for some reason it stopped playing at some point.
I think that after the fire is at max size you don't have any reason to keep playing, maybe if there was a score and you got points for each zombie you kill?
The game was good, I would play the full version with extra levels and bosses. :thumbsup_tone1:
Hello, for me, the game was not that fun. It was satisfying shooting the enemies, but that was it.
For your first game, it`s quite fun! Maybe it would be nice to have the possibility to start new fires, so you could progress more through the world.
Interesting idea about having the light decrease! A bit too easy as is, I always had the fire fully lit without any problems. Very cute!
Not bad! I love the gunplay! and the zombies throwing what... their limbs?...
should be a bit harder but it's pretty nice, the idea isn't super unique though, still a very good game btw the movement is really slow so i think just making everything faster would make the game more fun and harder.
That was fun! I had trouble aiming since the bullet come out by the side of the character. The fire changing the visibility range is a good idea.
*you're :-)
Good fun, controls were well done considering the complexity of orientation and motion. Nice music and sound. Well done.
This game is super fun! It's very hard when there are zombies throwing arms
I liked the playable difficultly. There have been too many of these survival games in the jam that have just been brutally hard.
Whew, I didn't expect that one zombie type to throw stuff at me! I like that you allow the player to be at a little distance and still throw wood into the fire. Even with my crappy built-in laptop touchpad mouse I was able to play this one fairly well while still having difficulty avoiding zombies.
There was a fair amount of gap between enemy rounds, but I needed that to build my fire back up, so it was welcome.
Also, while there's a typo in that title, it's brilliant!
This was a familiar concept, but it was well implemented - the controls felt good, so the core mechanic of "shoot zombies, don't get hit" worked out. The music was *awesome* - I loved it! (Though I also had the issue that it stopped playing after a while) I think there's a few things that would really help this game: first, some measurement of progress would be nice - this feels like a game where adding a score counter would improve the game a lot, since then players could be motivated to get a high score. I also think there were some indicators that would be useful to the player - for instance, instead of suddenly dimming the fire, it'd be nice if there was some sort of warning, either by having the fire fade gradually, or by adding a "fire health bar" sort of thing next to the player's health and using that to indicate the status of the fire. I also think some sort of additional content would help - whether that be more enemies, some sort of power-ups, or things like that (maybe something like "this is a special log; if you put it in the flame, you get an upgrade for a while!"). A little more sound design would be nice too - like footsteps or fire burning sounds. I enjoyed playing this, good job.
Wow, when I heard the game music, I knew the game would be great! But then the music stopped and was replaced by a glitchy static sound... If you could get the music looping, the sound would be perfect. The art was also pretty good! The complication of needing to fetch wood wasn't particularly interesting tho, you could have maybe tied the fuel level to the combat somehow (like perhaps you need to protect the fire, or maybe a larger fire gives you some boost). The game could've also been a bit faster, speed up both the player and the enemies to make for a faster, more exciting experience. Still though, the game was great, the music was a huge highlight for me. Congrats!
