Great Game with a great tutorial.

@toxichouse Wow! Thank you for the rating!
Loved the God-Game like mechanics and thought the pixel art was charming. The tutorial was absolutely required before playing!
There was some 'stickiness' with the mouse controls and clicking (particularly if you didn't have enough Influence to terraform) which was sub-optimal. Also, that Mountain sprite *really* stuck out.
Great game -- great job!
@asgardheavy Thanks for the feedback, Your totally right you really need the tutorial otherwise its basically impossible to play.
Wow, I can't believe you guys made this during a jam. Definetely a solid entry. I feel like the gameplay itself was a bit unbalanced and there was no direct feedback on the changes that player made, but just the scale of the game for a jam game was awesome and I understand that there might not have been time for balancing. Graphics really fitted in well and very pretty clear, and the music was also awesome. Really solid entry, good work!
@efmi Thank you for playing. This game was definitely a lot of work. It started really small then we just kept adding features. The start of day 2 after almost 3 hours of work we had one building. 2 hours later we had about ten and a food system.
Score 3730! The tutorial was essential to understand the game. Very polished and relaxing music!
Nice one! Great that you take the effort to make this very well-done tutorial!
A very charming experience. Love the pixel art style and I have a thing for simulation games, so this is my kind of jam. :relaxed:
Also, found the tutorial super useful and very well implemented. It holds your hand in a very nice way.
I enjoyed the experience, but the sound effects were quite jarring. Some graphics also didn't fit the others nicely, such as the ones for the crater and mountain.
I think the game's premise is really cool, and I could see the tactical decision-making prompts in the available tiles. I thought that was quite clever to create a competitive aspect that way. That said, I did feel like I wasn't completely sure how my choices would affect my own civilisation. Is farm land the best option? are there reasons to leave grass? is nearby water a positive thing? I wish I had a bit more wiggle room to experiment, and some feedback from the game. I really liked the music, even if it didn't always match the tone, it was pleasant nonetheless. The game definitely needed to lose the hammer / drill sound effect, as it got old very quickly.
Overall, a pretty ambitious game to make for LD, I think you did a good job of executing on the mechanics, but would love to have seen a more integrated tutorial and more direct feedback loop. Best of luck.
Good game. I love 2D pixel graphics, I think it looks much nicer than 3D. I also want to praise an interesting idea and implementation, it's very cool
Interesting idea, there didn't seem to be much consequence to my choices however.. Kinda felt like I was just painting a scene which was still very nice.
Really enjoyed this game. Feel like it missed the them of the Jam a bit. I however love these kinds of strategy games.
This game is very fun to play. Graphics and sounds are good. Well done !
beat the devs.PNG I _really_ like this idea, and I feel like you guys did a great job executing it. The meteor wasn't described in the tutorial, but to be honest that made finding it accidentally a lot more interesting. My one complaint is that the building sound was a little loud, and once exponential growth kicked in it started getting kind of hard to listen to. Other than that though, great job!
Interesting game. Points for the music, points off for the unrelenting hammering and drill noises.
Thank you all of the constructive criticism, there is definitely some things to consider. We will take this feedback and use it the next game jam, and hopefully make a even more enjoyable game. 😁
Fun game. Glad i looked at the tutorial before playing :)
