Good graphics and mood!

thescopelessone 2020-04-20 11:46

Took a few tries to figure out how to win. Nice concept. A sucker for Lovecraft as well.

nihira 2020-04-20 21:36

Lovecraft style, it's really cool

lukas-tamayo 2020-04-21 14:15

Impressive for a compo game, watched it on stream and I agree it would require more feedback but the game was pretty ambitious in the first place so I understand it was hard to do with the time constraint. Still a very good job

week-of-the-agents 2020-04-21 14:18

@lukas-tamayo I thought description would be enough, but nobody don't read it )

lukas-tamayo 2020-04-21 14:23

Like any game, they need to be self sufficient and someone should only need the game itself to get it

huvaakoodia 2020-04-21 20:05

In a jam it is fine not to have a tutorial or even an instructions screen as there might not be time for anything like that. I consider them a bonus. Although, in this case I did read the instructions (as I always do!) and didn't quite get it.

The cultists are animated well and it looks like they are doing something useful all of the time. In actuality they only produce anything based on a long interval, which is rather unintuitive, especially when it comes to the worshiping. They keep chanting, yet the monster remains increasingly unimpressed.

Well, waiting did the trick. And in the end waiting is all it takes to keep the monstrosity alive. There is no reason to move the cultists around, that's a waste of time. Just assign the same amount to all of the tasks (apart from marketing) and sacrifice the tenth guy, every single time.

This stagnation issue could be fixed with periodic demands from the old one, i.e. higher temporary demand for potions, spells, worship or sacrifices. Something like that.

Competently made even if a bit stale. Solid work!

anchry 2020-04-21 20:51

Requires some balancing as it is incredibly difficult to manage each different task.

ukirain 2020-04-21 21:49

Nice game. Ktulhu Fhtagn! Спасибо, что пришел на стрим! Игра огонь! Только туториал добавь, а то без тебя бы не разобрался :)

kittrangers 2020-04-22 12:17

Заставка отличная! В игре сначала никак не мог понять, куда жать но достаточно быстро понял. Баланс такой что сложно выполнять все задачи одновременно (мне пройти не удалось, но вцелом приятно игралась)

week-of-the-agents 2020-04-22 12:25

@kittrangers Баланс правил в последние часы и не удалось выстроить равномерный

jonrei 2020-04-22 16:45

Its a nice concept and I like the art direction of it. With some balancing tweaks, I think it could be an interesting game. Theres a lot of good work in here for one person, solo development is always a plus in my book. Good job!

week-of-the-agents 2020-04-22 17:25

@jonrei It was very hard to balance game in the last couple of hours. I'd tried but... )

jonrei 2020-04-22 17:39

@week-of-the-agents No worries mate, our game has the same problem. Game balancing is very dificult and no one expects a jam game to be perfectly balanced :)

shp 2020-04-23 16:57

the voices made me laugh every time, kinda addictive of a game!

flamti 2020-04-23 18:36

Nice idea! Need fish mans!

week-of-the-agents 2020-04-23 18:52

deep ones will be present in my next game (for publishing)

ambadev 2020-04-24 17:36

Fun game, could use some background music to heighten the mood, as well as maybe some more variety, like different types of recruits for different roles.

eyesoflamia 2020-04-24 21:25

Super cool!

n-feofentov 2020-04-26 14:16

А вот и стрим с твоей игрой: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/603233099 Удачи!

asfdfdfd 2020-04-27 19:12

This game has nice concept. Good work!

abdurrahman-khallouf 2020-05-03 10:50

I kept dying and I couldn't understand what are the commands :(

looks well done though

week-of-the-agents 2020-05-03 11:05

@abdurrahman-khallouf You need to keep cultists at every job - worshipping (in the middle), reading books and brewing potions. They need some time to success and drop percents. Don't forget to feed the Creature and agitate neophytes. Smart management is the key.

turritom 2020-05-03 16:40

reminds me a little of our play on the theme. very well done, congratulations.
