I didn't quite get how the fight worked. However the music and atmosphere of the game are great (:

shay-cichocki 2019-10-07 16:52

Having a google drive link was wild but the game was ok!

tomcus 2019-10-07 16:53

Interesting game. One thing I would change is to add more music. Its too repetetive and since the game is long it starts to iritate you. But otherwise great game.

doctorturbo 2019-10-07 18:50

This is some of those great gamejam ideas that can be developed much further. We really ended up enjoying the whole gamejam and the gameplay we came up with a lot.

We actually wanted to do the whole sfx and bgm system more thoroughly not to mention the game is sorely lacking some particle effects for the abilities to give better visual feedback. We just really got bogged down by the whole PlayerPrefs system trying to save and load the unit positions. Even now it seems randomly forgetful 5% of the time. I really hope some people can get something out of this game though.

really cool name and game, would love to see a more polished version of the game on a later date

plazmaz 2019-10-07 21:01

Really nice looking, unique concept, kinda repetitive audio, and the gameplay is a bit slow.

rusty-jim 2019-10-07 22:40

I really didn't understand how to fight. Even with the tutorial! With that said, I really enjoyed the low-poly characters in the fight scene. Maybe a bit much chromatic aberration though? :)

darkcmd 2019-10-08 07:40

Great graphic and animation. The tutorial could be better.

hiveminds 2019-10-08 07:58

Had both the mage and the enemy die at he same time. Still won haha.

It's a very fun and interesting entry!

I liked the idea for the battle system (if a little confusing - needs more focus on what you can do, especially abilites, cam rotation,) And the pre battle choice is a neat idea too. Nice work!

graphicedit 2019-10-08 09:57

Nice

desenvolvedor44 2019-10-09 00:14

Good project, Congratulations!!

danilo-freire 2019-10-09 03:41

Nice project! Got a little confused about how game works, i have to read over and over to get it! xD

vhalenn 2019-10-09 11:29

I really love this combat circle idea ! This is so great !!! But unfortunately the game is slow I had to relaunch the game to see all the controls haha ! but a complete game with this combat could be incredible ! Amazing to have a save system in a jam

ausstein 2019-10-10 11:27

Great fighting mechanics. I dod not find it hard to understand at all. In the end is there no win screen? I just got fight after fight after fight in the end. I felt I should have gotten a win screen once I could found my dojo. There are some balance issues, the mages do like nothing and the warriors are overpowerd with insane damage and HP. I also had some bugs where members from my party got deleted over and over again. I won and after I won I had one less character in my party. So I had to do the same fight again and again. after like 3 times i could finally add a new member. I loved the graphics. That was adorable. Such great work for so few days Good Job.

doctorturbo 2019-10-10 12:09

@ausstein Nice to finally hear someone say that they weren't confused lol. Yeah the ending was just another thing that we couldn't add due to the time restriction. The original plan was to have a gauntlet of 3 fights in a row once you had 6 allies and then a little win cinematic. But we ran into to those save issues you mentioned so once you have 6 allies it's just endless random encounters. If I hadn't spent most of the second day writing debug logs and trying to figure out why the saving didn't work sometimes we would have done so much more. Playtesting was also something we had next to no time for so balance issues were likely. Thanks for the detailed feedback though.

ausstein 2019-10-10 12:59

Saw your Blogpost.

Is it worth a replay? What bugs did you fix exactly I can't find no changelog

svipal 2019-10-10 13:33

Really wanted to play this, bug it crashes on Linux as soon as you click continue after recruiting your first disciple

koukwst 2019-10-10 13:51

Great game! I had some issues with the tutorial due to my ultrawide screen but I fixed them when I got in game. It was nice to have settings options. Even without reading the text (TLDR) I was able to fully understand what I was supposed to and what each class abilty was. Really liked the graphics and the camera movement! I believe you should further develop it or even create PvP modes, it is an interesting idea, ecspecially now with all these autochess games. Finally an end turn button would be nice. I spend much time waiting :P.

asturk 2019-10-10 14:56

Find the idea of this game really innovative and has a very good progression into each stage, its like a new twist into the turn-based fighting mechanic. The only downside is the game fight goes really slow since you cannot finish your turn faster once you decided all your actions, making me getting bored once has to wait the 20 seconds each time, but just implementing an input to jump direct to the action would fix that problem and made the game goes faster! But even with that, its a great game and had some fun with it! Great job!!

doctorturbo 2019-10-10 15:26

@asturk @koukwst Maybe I should have put this in the tutorial rather than the text dump but you can press left shift to skip to the end of the round and shift again to skip the one by one animations. You can also just press right shift to nuke the enemies. I was proud of that feature cmon guys. But thanks so much for the feedback and I'm glad you had fun!

@ausstein Before you could have your allies die and still win, you could lose all your allies in a save and the overall flow was much more janky. Now it actually feels like a game. Though you might have played the updated version actually. I made the post much later.

@svipal I'll make a fresh linux build in 20min tell me if it works. I don't have mac or linux myself so I cant really test.

EDIT: New linux build is up

purpledartfrog 2019-10-10 17:48

Very nicely done  like the mechanic very much .. of course there's still some potential fine tuning ... but the concept works - congrats :thumbsup_tone1:

:purple_heart: :dart: :frog:

xarras 2019-10-10 21:31

Great mechanic, turn based with a twist for tactics. Animations are lovely, they look line an old final fantasy with all that movement, as if characters were expecting the action, the fight. This game only needs one thing that could be a good thingy for a post-LD final touch: a huge final boss!

doctorturbo 2019-10-10 21:45

@xarras Thanks so much! I think I'll actually add that with an ending screen. @purpledartfrog Thanks my amphibian brother!

purpledartfrog 2019-10-10 22:35

:purple_heart: :frog: "Riiiibbit"

erebus 2019-10-10 23:24

Really cool and unique concept for a tactics game. I liked the art. Very original. Hope you guys build it out more! Thanks for bringing it by the stream!

el-fideo-rubio 2019-10-12 16:16

Really solid game, I think would work really great on mobile doing the rotation of the units with your finger and taping to attack.

asfdfdfd 2019-10-12 19:00

I think that this is really nice game. That is pretty close to the game than to prototype. It has nice jRPG vibes. I love graphics and work with camera.

alexrose 2019-10-14 11:32

I think this will score lower than it deserves because of presentation, but if so don't be disheartened, because you have a really neat idea here. Can totally see this being a bigger game if the ux/presentation is improved.
