The browser version runs pretty slow currently, but still a really nice concept & great looking piece!

shunaky 2019-10-07 23:10

@cybikitty Really? That's weird, we tested on our computers and everything was fine :(

Did youi tried the downloadable version?

yolziii 2019-10-07 23:14

Very nice soundtrack and atmosphere!

shunaky 2019-10-07 23:15

@yolziii Thanks for the feedback, bro ^^

z-doctor 2019-10-08 00:21

Looks interesting, but the buttons and non attached blocks can be a bit hard too see.

shunaky 2019-10-08 00:40

@z-doctor Thanks for the feedback, we might try to change toa different color or object in a future version ^^

generalbeans 2019-10-08 00:48

Super fun! I would recommend working on the attach and detach system, perhaps having a different button for detaching - making it easier for players to hold the space bar and attach to things. I found myself spamming space bar desperately to make attachments that just wouldn't be made due to the physics and pushing the block away from myself before being able to make the attachment! Played it to completion on my stream! Had fun! Thanks a lot! Keep working on it!

shunaky 2019-10-08 00:55

@generalbeans Thank you very much for playing it on your stream, I saw you breaking my levels three times hahaha, if you recorded, I would love to see how you solved the last one on the middle of the level hahahaha

If we keep working on it, we will definely change the detach button to something different and we will be increasing the attach area around the blocks to help with the attaching problems.

Thank you again for playing, it was really nice to see you playing and enjoying our game ^^

aaranos 2019-10-08 04:10

The attach and detach seemed to be a little clunky. It's a nice puzzle game though it doesn't quite match the theme.

hydezeke 2019-10-08 04:10

The game has a great aesthetic/style and great sound design too. I admire the great lengths you've gone to make it so presentable. The concepts are very very interesting. The only weakness really is the unreliability of the physics system, which I think is hard to figure out in just 3 days anyway.

The concept is great, the game feels and looks great. Great job ! !

nero-cao 2019-10-08 04:10

Great concept and music rly fit with the theme and art work. I wish the control (in terms of attaching and dettaching) is more responsive.

And the game respawns me back to the original pit with no other blocks to work out of the pit. Might still be some issue with the code? But really interesting mechanics to solve puzzles.

gswong 2019-10-08 04:16

I love physics based puzzle games and I really like the neon light aesthetic! Great job!

taqoshaq 2019-10-08 04:16

Ah! I know you @shunaky ! I played necroblood last time! Cool to see you going for a different genre.

I like the atmosphere and the puzzle core concept, it works well with the theme and is a puzzle style I personally havent seen before!

I have three comments that haven't been addressed above: 1. I think the acceptance zone for merging can be made larger by the "are the blocks touching" logic being done with trigger colliders that are just slightly bigger than their collision volumes. That would help ease the spacebar-spamming. 2. The "respawn back at the beginning" can be a bit brutal for sections where you can't recover from a mistake. For example in level 1 where you need to get over a pit by using some cubes, which you can also lose down the pit. 3. A further-along version of this should probably open with a slightly easier puzzle! It took me an embarrassingly long time to get over that first ledge! Maybe start with a puzzle where you only need to use a single block.

Overall though, very nicely done.

shunaky 2019-10-08 04:31

@nero-cao Actually in the first level you need to press all the 4 keys below, and then, it gives you the two blocks, if you restart the first level, you need to press the 4 keys again.

@aaranos the theme kindad fits because you start by yourself and you NEED to get other stuff to proceed, but I agree it was a little off...

@hydezeke The game's physics is really weird, we tried with a lot of variants to optmize it, ut then we had to give up for the time's sake :( But it's definely something we are going to look into if we continue developing it! ^^

@taqoshaq It's really cool to see that people still remember my last game <3 thank you for the feedback too! for those 3 comments 1- that's a good idea, we made it with "OnCollision" and realisedd it was too hard to attach when it was too late to change all the objects :(

2- Yeah... we should try making some checkpoint areas or always small puzzles, or something that can rewind time.

3- That's DEFINELY something we will change in a future version, if we keep working in it

Lovely concept, challenging game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 45 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/aEgrmplySyU

birdybirdkirby 2019-10-08 22:16

I LOVE it, the a e s t h e t i c is great as well. Once you figure out controls and do some critical thinking it makes more sense. you the best shudaddy

jake-marks 2019-10-08 22:27

Fun wee puzzle game, with nice neon A E S T H E T I C S. Controls are a bit wonky.

shunaky 2019-10-09 02:44

@birdybirdkirby @jake-marks It's good to see that you enjoyed playing our game ^^

velvetlobster 2019-10-09 23:49

great neon aesthetics, and quite a fluid gameplay ... it also does perform a bit slow in my pc ... it may be just my pc though, havent tried anywhere else, did you have any inspiration for the colors? It feels a bit like a rhythm based game I like a lot but i am having a hard time remebering the name

shunaky 2019-10-10 04:18

@velvetlobster the Starting Idea was making the lights interact with the music, but we couldn't make it in time, so we focused on the gameplay mechanics.

Have you tried the downloadable version? The Browser one seems to be a little slower...

gaming-night 2019-10-10 07:15

Really loved the neon design :)

kuviman 2019-10-10 18:19

The idea is great, but buggy physics took a lot from the fun of the game for me

kroltan 2019-10-12 12:47

Loved the graphics! The controls were a bit unclear, I press space to attach to things, but I haven't figured out how to detach properly. Sometimes I hold space, or press it a whole bunch of times. Also, I found the lack of friction a bit disconcerting since it's impossible to climb the 45deg slopes back up.

shunaky 2019-10-12 22:12

@kroltan Thank you for the feedback, we will try something about the control scheme or how to teach the player using them..

The physics on the attaching and detaching is a little off in the Jam version, we already fixed it in our build we are working on ^^

The slopes in 45° will not be used anymore for climbing, we didn't realize how bad it would be to climb as in our tests we just pushed the ball and then ran to the door when it was opened already :/

We apreciate A LOT your feedback ^^
