Well done! A very creative way to apply the theme! I struggled at first to understand that I was supposed to hold space to effectively buy low and sell high but once I got the hang of that it felt pretty straightforward. The game is hard! I would maybe suggest starting the user with more money, or giving them a nice bull run to start with so that new users can get the hang of the game before just losing in the first 5 seconds if they don't optimize their profits. It's too bad Godot C# doesn't support HTML5 deployment yet, otherwise having the game on something like itch.io would make it more accessible, maybe next game jam? Overall a nice job for such a short time-frame.

Such a good use of the theme, well done ! That's pretty hard though

Really cool style and thematic idea, however the gameplay seems broken. I just kept spamming the space bar and I managed to win no problem.

aaron96 2019-04-29 20:15

Really cool interpretation of the theme and the art fits so perfectly as well, good job!

animo-tree 2019-04-29 20:25

A bit to complicated for me.

64mega 2019-04-29 20:38

Nice interpretation of the theme, and it looks fitting too! Gameplay-wise, I couldn't quite figure out when it was best to hold the spacebar and when not to, but I tried and got a few screens over!

This game is HARD to figure out, but very cool concept when you get it! I think you should be penalized for staying still like "Time is money!", so you can't stand still and go slow to maximize, but then running and making money should be easier and balanced out.

Cool game!

hunter-x 2019-04-29 20:47

An interesting interpretation of the theme; it did take a few goes for me to get a handle on what I should be doing, but once I understood the mechanics I enjoyed playing it. It does feel like it's harder to recover from low health than it is to maintain/increase high health, but that could be alleviated somewhat by the earlier suggestion about a decent upwards trend at the start of the level to teach people how to play and to build up their health. Overall a fun game with plenty of potential for expansion - perhaps drawing from real live/historical stock graphs?

mrschlag2 2019-04-29 20:57

Thanks for your comments guys, I really appreciate it :) !

In fact @hunter-x it is real historical graphs. The idea at the beginning was to change from currency to currency to maximise you profit :money_mouth: . Here the datetime and rate are from EUR/JPY 2018-01-01 at 17:00 to 2018-01-01 at 20:20, the games loads the whole year but display only a fraction, that's why you have loading time.

I didn't have the time for optimization and bonuses like multiplicator when you hold for a long period...

hunter-x 2019-04-29 21:18

I was wondering why there was such a noticeable loading delay there, very nice :)

This is just a straight 5 star game man! Great concept, great take on the theme! Congratulations

Ooh, I am very bad at this game, but I love it. Its really cool to see that you are using real data too. I just hope there isnt an economic collapse, or this game will become even harder then it already is. The style kinda reminds me of n+ mixed with economics class which is certainly unique. Great concept, and the execution is also really great. One of my favorites of the jam so far!

kultisti 2019-05-01 17:52

What a clever idea! Never would have tought of this way to use the theme :D Great work!

lubaka 2019-05-01 20:21

An incredible game with a very unique take on the theme!

mike-inprinciple 2019-05-02 00:54

I haven't made a game for this LD, so I cannot rate, but I can leave feedback:

1. I think the aesthetics work pretty well and the theme has been hit quite well, if somewhat literally. 2. I broke the gameplay almost immediately. I discovered that the character is affected by physics, so I could let him slide down on slopes and the hit the low point, hold space to the peak and let go. This was possible because my character could stop. I wouldn't have allowed the character to stop, but perhaps the forward arrow could speed up instead and give a bonus for speed of investment? Just a though.

Great game! Pretty easy after learning how it works but still a neat concept. Glad to see more and more people using Godot and Godot mono!

nathaniel-jensen 2019-05-02 01:10

Super Creative!

ludwici 2019-05-02 10:16

It's game harder than Flappy Bird! Very nice, want it on android :D

jsmars 2019-05-08 14:39

Very cool idea that fits the theme, quite addicting gameplay also! Would be great to have a leaderboard, I would be stuck :D

neowedge 2019-05-08 16:35

I love the concept, but it's veru hard!!! Congratulations for the game, it's very original and addictive, good job!

redz0ner 2019-05-08 17:22

Very nice concept. After beating the level I found it was a shame that there were no other levels :(

Also a good demonstration of the It's easy to make money if you have money principle

Another great option is Charles Schwab [https://etfhead.com/top-5-best-online-brokers-platforms-for-etfs-trading/](https://etfhead.com/top-5-best-online-brokers-platforms-for-etfs-trading/) . It serves over 10 million customers in the United States and allows them to buy stocks without paying a commission. It works with the major US exchanges and offers trading in over 5,000 stocks. The website also allows users to invest in index funds, exchange-traded funds, and participate in fractional ownership.
