It was fun! )) True, for some reason, on the 3rd or 4th level, when I came to the finish, all the adepts disappeared, but the level was not completed. Anyway nice job!

The same happened for me :) otherwise nice

Game looks very good, the music is fitting as well, gj!

Very interesting to say the least. I think it set a good mood and the setting suited the theme. Even though I understand that controlling the dudes is the challenge, I found it to be a bit too floaty and unpredictable. Since they move more than you expect them to, you end up guessing a lot.

That feedback aside, I could really see this as a final game. It has my gears turning about how you could design different kinds of scenarios and stuff. Like maybe some of the guys you control have different temperaments and pushes others aside to survive, but they are strong so they can push rocks. Something like that. I also think this game might have been better as sort of a RTS like Lemmings or something.

It has a lot of promise and my guess is that you guys have been fantasizing about what it could have been with more work too :)

Great entry :)

Played it for longer than I thought I would be :) I like the style. Sometimes it's a bit hard to predict where the crowd stopsbut who cares about the heretics anyway? Also a zoom function would be great to get the overview on large levels. Overall - thumbs up!

It looks alright, but it's a bit flawed in design. It's literally impossible to get all the heretics to the altar because they operate on flock logic, and the paths are narrower than the group, so of course heretics are going to fall in. And there's no point to branching paths to try and lead me on a goose chase when I can move the camera independantly to the flock to find the altar. I also got stuck on a level because my last two heretics disappeared, but didn't count as dying so I still had some left being counted, but there weren't any.

But, like I said, it looks nice! It's quite colourful considering it's in Hell!

Nice. Both the music and graphics are good. The controls are bit awkward but that's what makes the game play interesting. It's always fun to send them into lava.

Good job.

Are you using navmeshagents for this? It's kinda hard to make them work as you want. I love the hell theme, but got stuck on one of the levels. I haven't tried to kill everyone except one to lead to finish, probably this might work.

Here is my playtest:

@icxon Yeah, we decided to use navmesh agents as simplest way of making player movement. But as we used it for the first time it was difficult to configure it properly. Thank you for your playtest, hope you enjoyed it.

p.s.: sorry for my english

A very interesting concept didn't see something like this before however it was hard to control the heratics sinds they would bump each other of. And I couldn't rotate the camera. If you have time check out my game too :v:

exstrafe 2019-05-08 14:07

@a-coltzz Originally we wanted to make the camera attached to the player's crowd. Unfortunately, time constraints and our lack of experience in game development had pushed us to give the player the ability to control the camera directly using WASD keys. And yes, there is a bug on the last map where adepts vanish right before Dark Goblet. I have no idea why this is happening, but re-baking Nav Meshes and various configurations of NavMesh agents does not allow this to be fixed. I will check your game out ASAP.

I really like your game, congratulations for this entry ! It was fun to play !

If I can suggest any improvements, I think you could add a function (with the mouse-wheel) to reduce the map. We can see an overall of the map with that function, because you "god eyes" moving a bit too slow, I think.

And in the level 4, your heretics dissapear suddenly when they're near the tower.

But It's a really good entry !

Pretty fun game! The mechanics work quite well, leading the flock is not too easy and there are always some dying, so it seems well balanced. The artstyle is also quite nice and creates quite the mood together with the chosen audio. Really enjoyed this, good job!

The gameplay was simple but surprisingly fun. The only thing I don't like is that getting more adepts to altar seemed more tedious than hard. Maybe also reward players for completing levels quicker? Then you'll have to balance speed and saving adepts. Also on 3rd or 4th level adepts just disappeared before altar, so I couldn't complete the level. Adding some sort of traps and just generally adding more variety would improve the game a lot imo

Congratulations on the entry! It sure looks good and has an interesting gameplay. There are so many things that you can toy with with this movement mechanic. I'd love to see some moving platforms, or some sort of timer to rush the player. I feel like you have an interesting idea, but could've developed it further. But I know, jams are intense, right?

Congrats and great job!
