Wow that game is so amazing, the music is SO funny, I couldn't stop laughing when I entered the main menu, other than that the game is made very well. Good job! :D
Hi there! Here is my feedback!
Pros: - Audio: Really like the programmer music, it was pretty funny. - Core mechanic: You implemented the game mechanic loop like me (1. fight 2. chose powerup for health). I think it's properly balanced, it took me 3 tries to win the game, because I traded too much HP before fights. Also it gives you room to try out different strategies.
Cons: - Enemies: They use the same "follow" mechanic, which makes them repetitive. - Level: One level over and over again.
Overall: Liked the game, it was nice to see that some other entrant had the same idea but used in a little bit different setting. Good one!
well a really fun game, but the enemies that start behind you are quite tricky and painfull. you cannot really avoid them, i started mostly by going backward and basically got hit few times by those.
the onther would would be to simply give you all the health that on the level and you didn't collect at the end. because each time i finish level i would just collect the 3 bubles they are not far apart but yeah that still be nice if you could just get them automatically when you kill everyone. it might not be actually necessary.
i would probably give you 3 health for each you dont pick up while fighting and make the fight harder so you probably would need to pick the health.
Soundtrack is outstanding :) For real. You it was hilarious! :) Game is good, level design is bad :) Overall - awesome, one of the most enjoyable games I've played so far in this game jam :) Well done!
Agree with what others have said about enemies starting behind the player. There are also a couple of dead end corners in the map that I got cornered in and lost health trying to escape. The core loop was solid and well balanced, I had fun.
Wow, clocking in at 66 MB this is quite a large download for LD.
5/5 for Audio! What can I see, I laughed so hard at this :-D
A microphone and SFXR is sometimes all you need for compelling audio :-)
This game was over way too quickly. Just when bought all the items. Also, what does regenerate mean? What does that improve?
I like the simple 3D graphics. A room with some obstacles. What more can you ask for ;-)
The gameplay is easy, regular FPS controls, no introduction really necessary. That is good, this saves you the controls screen which is fine in this case.
The difficulty curve is slowly going up, then the game ends. This means that overall I found your game way too easy, you could have done a bit more. More levels, more enemies, even faster shoot rates maybe. I feel this game was over too quickly, I would have loved to play more of it!
Overall a solid entry, keep up the good work!
Didn't like enemies showing up behind me. But gameplay was very cool and graphics were neat! Audio was super funny, great job!
I understand that this was a compo entry, so good job for putting yourself out there and making something! The first complaint I have is that the basic "Chasing" AI encourages a lot of backwards movement, and when some enemies / obstacles are behind you it doesn't really work that well because you can't see where you're going. The fire rate in general I think is pretty slow, coupled with the lack of sensitivity control makes combat feel like hip firing a sniper rifle. Maybe add like a crowd control weapon (high fire rate or area of effect attack) which could deal low damage but allow you to get away from crowds of enemies. The art was fine, and the music was amusing. I also felt the jump was not very useful, if something doesn't contribute a lot to the core gameplay, just leave it out. **Key takeaways:** - If your AI encourages a certain play style, make sure that doesn't lead to hard to avoid deaths. - Focus on making core mechanics as fun as possible, while leaving unnecessary things out. - Keep making games! Nothing beats experience.
This is the kinda game why I love LD, some of the assets aren't great but you can tell it was put together by a person and it feels very endearing. Some comments:
Enemies spawning behind you in level 3 isn't great. Not sure what the line from the gun is about :) The health/currency mechanic actually worked a lot better than I expected, it was interesting that you could "invest" by buying the more-health-from-pickups upgrade.
I really enjoyed playing it, thanks.
Nice game, the music is very funny. I just have one question, why is the music not in the background while playing? :D
It takes a few tries to win, so it's just as hard as it needs to be, the powerups are nicely balanced. All in all, a fun experience.
The music was hilarious, I just had a hard time playing because my CPU couldn't handle the graphics ;-;
Hahah the audio! Game was super easy but because of that I played all the way till the end and had fun doing it! Some of the enemies would get stuck sometimes and I'd just walk up and shoot them which was pretty funny, one little green guy came out of nowhere and scared the hell outta me. The game worked pretty smoothly though and the upgrades were a nice touch! Good job, I appreciate that you made everything yourself and it feels authentic. Nice Jam entry!
The game is nice and has potential! Good job! :)
Fun game. I really liked the way you implemented your theme. It was cool how you could either keep more health or you could buy upgrades. Nice job!
