Great art style, audio goes with the art style! Don't really get how it fits the theme though, also found the gameplay not that interesting.

Everything is so cute in this game, I regret not having time to discover the village and wander! I managed to get 3 kids very happy and some other quite happy. It was really fun to spoil some kids and be unfair to some others :D I actually gave my best present to the turbulent kid who was not good at all this year because I think maybe everyone is always trying to ground him and it feels good to have someone be nice to him once a year. Congrats for this game!

Well done. lots of small pleasing nice details.

Congratulations for this game! I love it!

corbak 2018-12-05 13:38

Very cute pixel art you got there! It is kind heartbreaking that I am so slow, I dint manage to get any present right before my 4th attempt ^^. I also love the idea to sacrifice children's dreams... very naughty XD

legulysse 2018-12-05 21:51

Love the art, it was fun giving despair to all those kids. I tried to be nice but could only make 2 of them happy, timer is extremely short, and not knowing what presents are available when choosing kids makes it very hard. Very nice entry.

lucien-catonnet 2018-12-06 12:52

Arh I didn't see the timer and only gave 3 gifts! But they were the right ones at least! I think it could be interesting to read what a present is before picking it up, this way you'd end up with a more traditional memory game, and you get more ways to go from house to house and present to present. I was surprised there was no button to restart once reaching the end of the game, or maybe I missed it?

Great pixel art and retro style. I think that with a good christmas music the game would have been more cool. :) The gameplay is fine and the theme is certainly there, so it's an overall good entry! Nice job!

Wow, such cute graphics style. Perfect for the season :)

toulou 2018-12-09 18:22

Nice little game, it's short and simple but it doesn't need to be more. It's original, easy to understand and I especially like the minimalist pixelart, it's very well done and give to the game a nice mood. Good job overall :)

shadoninja 2018-12-09 21:11

Good job with this one. The art style was clean and consistent.

purpoappo 2018-12-09 22:51

Very fun game! The gameplay is fun and the graphics are nice. I wish there was more time though.

megalink 2018-12-09 22:59

This is really good! I love the graphics and the game concept. Only flaw was that I couldn't figure out how to drop the current present which was being held. This caused me to have to restart the game each time I got an item which didn't correspond with what any of what the children wanted. Other then that, great work! Keep it up :)

patvanmackelberg 2018-12-10 00:57

Art was great, really cute game all together. Good job!

Pleasant, inoffensive, take on the Xmas spirit-animal and consumerist poster-child (Santa, that is). Good writing on the letters.

More of a story based deal this so my usual spiel about what a sacrifice is doesn't quite fit. Instead I'll say that the exercise is very random due to not being able to see which presents are going to come up. Even if I remember all the requests, I cannot maximise happiness as the first random present might not be to anyone's liking. It is really annoying to later find a present which the first kid would have liked!

How to improve it then? Here's a suggestion: - Santa lands in the middle of the town, all five presents are visible in the sledge. - Santa can rummage through the sack to find more fitting presents if needed, this takes time. - There are multiple towns to visit (say 3-5?). - There is a set amount of time to get through all the towns. - If Santa runs out of time, then the later towns are not visited at all; loads of unhappy kids! In other words, sacrificing becomes about saving time, making snap judgements about who deserves good presents and who can do with tat. Alternatively, the town could just be bigger with visible gifts.

The pixely visuals are a result of the technology, but they function just fine. An 8-bit xmas song in the background would have improved the mood and audio ratings.

I like the setting and the writing; the interactivity is a bit dry.

I picked up a useless present and i didn't know if i could discard it or if i had to give it to a kid even i they wouldn't like it. Otherwise it's an original concept that's really well made.

tpamir 2018-12-19 02:59

Loved the art style! Got lost at some point with the controls yet good job!

falak 2018-12-21 13:35

Funny and well made!

samh 2018-12-27 11:35

I like the graphics in this entry. Very cute, but also very hard! I could never satisfy all the children, I even had a run where none of them got what they wanted. I would say this is the Dark Souls of travelling salesmen! But also a very nice metaphor of Christmas suitable for explaining to kids why they never get what they wanted.
