Got squashed!!! But after quite some time, you could ramp up the difficulty faster as a suggestion. Fun and new mechanics which could be expanded by making the room shape change as well so it is easier to get trapped. The higher difficulty you could have a full-blown maze that shrinks :)

The game is not working in my web browser. It is stuck at the instructions screen. The instruction screen disappears only the player runs out of space and dies. Then if you retry, the same problem persists. But I like your idea and your unique way of implementing theme, therefore I am rating your game! As a return, please check out my game too!

loonydrope 2018-08-14 10:03

@krasse Thank you for testing, and for you ideas. I preferred decreasing the number of bomb while you level up instead of making the walls go faster, because in general I don't like very much the games where you're stressed by time. That was my way to get around this. I like the ideas of different room shapes and a maze.

loonydrope 2018-08-14 10:05

@harsh-bawari Sorry to hear you couldn't try the game...

Did the bombs appear on the screen after the title screen? Were you able to move?

I sure will go and try your game, thanks for your feedback.

znw 2018-08-14 11:35

Couldn't try game in HTML5 version. The start screen just stays there and the game doesn't show up. Also the screen blinks after switching the browser tab back and forth, maybe this is related to some double-buffer screen problems, though I am not sure.

harsh-bawari 2018-08-14 12:16

@loonydrope The game just gets stuck on the 'instructions' screen. Then after sometime the screen changes and it shows 'Game Over'!

loonydrope 2018-08-14 15:09

I cannot see where the problem could be... At home it works well with the browsers I have.

But thank you for the feedback.

scottthoo 2018-08-14 16:07

Is the game will ends? I've gone to so many rounds and seems like its an endless game so i decided to kill myself. XP **And the game can't play in safari, it will show not able to run WebGL 2. Have to play in Firefox.

rob-parker 2018-08-14 16:21

Fun game with good mechanics. Enjoyed playing it but could of had a bigger difficulty curve. I found that after a while i just ended the game than the game ended me.

loonydrope 2018-08-14 18:35

@scottthoo and @rob-parker The game has an end in the sense that after too many iterations, the number of bombs that are spawn is less than the number required to continue, so even if you manage to grab all of them, this will not be enough. Maybe I should have make this moment happen sooner.

Thanks to both of you for your comments.

There is a bug with Godot at the moment that freezes the game on Chrome (and apparently some other browsers) when the game has particle effects. I have the same problem with my game. It's really annoying but there isn't much to do about it, but it'd be a good to advice people not to play it in Chrome and play it in Firefox if it doesn't work for them.

Other than that, very cool game and implementation of the theme! I do feel that there might be a little bit too many bombs or the walls are moving a bit to slowly, as it's not really that difficult to pick up most of them. This leads to the game taking quite a long time to complete, which makes it a bit repetitive. Overall it's fun, so good job!

loonydrope 2018-08-14 19:40

Thank you @gurbx for the explanation of the problem about the web version and Godot. I will edit the page to inform people.

Glad you enjoyed playing the game. I will increase the difficulty in a way or an other in a few days I think. But I don'y know if this is fair now the regular time is over and the games are still being rated.

ezra-lafleur 2018-08-14 20:01

Was fun and a really interesting use of the theme! I agree with the others that it could be a little more interesting to play if the difficulty increased over time but it was enjoyable nonetheless!

flaterectomy 2018-08-16 19:39

I scored a 1445. My wrist hurts now. 😆 It captures the theme well, but I am not sure why picking up bombs is a good thing; this seems dangerous.

The music is fun, the art is simple but everything is obvious. I am not a big fan of the colour scheme. Dark brown walls closing in, light brown hat, redbrown vest. They clash a bit in my eyes.

All in all I enjoyed it though. Now to get a painkiller for my wrist... 😛

joran 2018-08-16 19:41

Great game! For sure one of the better ones here. It was pretty easy though. My Score: 1257.

balance686 2018-08-16 21:05

Fun game! You made good use of the theme with an interesting take on the walls closing in mechanic. I like the music as well. It would be nice if you emitted an amount of bombs proportional to how many you collected out of the total for an added challenge. Overall a simple idea that was well executed. Good job!

loonydrope 2018-08-17 17:06

@flaterectomy Sorry for your wirst!

About picking bombs, I first wanted to make the character explode instead of just shrinking. I implemented the shrinking with an animation on scale because this was simple and wanted to go back to it later. But I ran out of time so it stayed as it was. (I started the jam a day and a half after the start so the last hours were very full) The same apply for the colors of the character: what was intended to be temporary stayed at the end.

Glad you enjoy it anyway.

loonydrope 2018-08-17 17:08

@joran & @balance686 Thanks for your comments.

I keep your improvement ideas and when the rating time will be over, maybe I will update the code and add a new version based on all those advices. Thank you!

zeusx212 2018-08-19 12:28

nice game

fammy 2018-08-25 13:18

Cool gameplay and the audio/graphics give a nice atmosphere to your game. Good job!

pengda 2018-08-25 16:42

The whole mechanism is simple and effective ;

Maybe there are more strategic skills or generation rules that will be betterï¼›

I got fun from the graphics :) 2.png

Good idea. Well done!
