was fun/10, you should get some pictures up on your itchio page mate and have it referenced here that you have mac/linux versions as well

I like the random generation. Nice art style and sound track. It was a bit buggy since I got stuck and couldnt move the caveman. But bugs are features, Water wolves are a thing

skyrex 2018-08-15 10:57

Bugs, bugs, bugs everywhere... I can't do a step, can't move the map generally I can't do anything so my rate is one.

Haven't played yet, but just a note, your HTML build on your itchio page is set up as a download instead of play in browser. You should fix that. Anyway, I've downloaded it. I'll be back with my feedback shortly.🤔

It loaded and then my caveman would get stuck after a few moves. Not do to hunger or obstacles. Had nice sound that fit the game though, and it had good randomization.

Seems cool but kinda buggy. I liked the music and the art style, but it was a bit too "zoomed in" for my tastes. Seemed a bit "flatter" than the usual isometric projection; a bit more top-down would be nicer. Controls a bit clunky, some hot keys would go a long way to making it more fun. Also, in game instructions would be nice. At first I didn't understand that you are supposed to surround the llamas.

First and third time I played the dude got stuck when I tried to click on an adjacent animal. Second time it crashed (on Linux):

OpenGL ES 3.0 Renderer: Quadro P400/PCIe/SSE2 caveman last position: (1, 1) caveman last position: (0, 2) caveman last position: (0, 1) caveman last position: (0, 0) caveman last position: (1, 1) path: [] handle_crash: Program crashed with signal 11 Dumping the backtrace. Please include this when reporting the bug on https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues [1] /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(+0x354b0) [0x7fca7169f4b0] (??:0) -- END OF BACKTRACE -- [1] 28387 abort (core dumped) ./CAVEMAN.x86_64

The game looks really cool, visually. Absolutely fantastic, atmospheric music that really pumps you up and gets you into the mindset.

The game locks up every time I get within a certain range of... probably a wolf. Basically the first time the console shows "found enemy at ()". Though it's saying, for example, "found enemy at (5, 3)" and "caveman last position (5, 3)". Does it think there's an enemy at that position? Once this happens, I can no longer move any cave man.

I got close to the llamas once. I walked into one. It disappeared, and the game freaked out completely, becoming unresponsive.

Rotating the camera a full 360 degrees causes you to lose control of the camera entirely as it begins spinning endlessly.

All in all, it looks like it has potential, but it's too buggy to play in its current state.

The music is sweet and visual style looks great, and cool that you used Godot. The gameplay was a little frustrating with navigation being difficult at some points though, as the camera is at a fixed angle and sometimes the footprints end up being obscured. Maybe making the camera something that can be moved or having a more orthographic top down view might help. Some times there's also an error and the cavemen get stuck somehow, so I couldn't get near the llamas at all.

@randomphantom @chris-coe @agwblack @skyrex

Really sorry for the buggy state of things; there was a bunch of ambition and not enough time. Really appreciate the feedback <3
