* was odd to be doing down instead of up (most games like this you are flying up) * I would move the ship closer to the edge of the screen to give more visual space to the parts map yet to be experienced. * some sort of control info would be nice. I had to hunt around the set of typical inputs to figure out how to control the ship. * good first entry * + theme points for not being 'inventory tetris' or 'shrinking playing field' for the interpretation of the theme.

@adroitconceptions Hey, thanks! I find that in most of my games, I've never actually told the player how to play in the game, which is a flaw I should probably patch up. Thanks for playing, and giving feedback!

I found it pretty difficult to dodge upcoming asteroids because there's not enough time to react between seeing the asteroid and it hitting you. I would consider moving the ship more towards the top of the screen so there's more time to notice and dodge the asteroids. Also, control instructions would be nice.

Good game! Also it will be good to have a life counter of the ship, but it's still nice to play

@firebelley I actually found out how to properly move the camera, but it's a bit too late for that (maybe?). @hexkritor Thanks!

Good job! I like the art, and the fact that you took on the compo really impresses me! It does have some issues on the fun side of things. First of all, the window size makes it impossible to see asteroids coming. Second, there's no way to tell how close you are to dying. Third, you can just fly in the space between the asteroids all the way down and just skip the challenge in the game. I know you already knew most of these things were a problem, but I'm trying to be helpful. I like what you did with the theme though (I just KNEW someone was going to take "Running out of space" and use the literal meaning for running on it!) Overall, good job, keep going, and maybe try the jam next year (It's WAY easier, and you get a much better game with the extra time).

Cheers! - The Koala Squad

@koala-squad Thanks! And you may be surprised by the number of people who had the same idea as me... It's two. But, the other executed the idea well! https://gamejolt.com/games/mult/360731

Pretty much everything that's already been said, especially the going upwards part (or sideways towards the right, which would give more visiability and tighter movement restrictions). However I say stick with compo if you enjoyed it. Keep practicing until then, and next time you'll do even better.

@rk3omega Alright! Though, I'll probably join the jam next time.

Not a ton of gameplay, going back to the other comments on not really having enough time to make decisions, but it's a solid attempt! There could probably be a few small additions/tweaks, like starting with the camera scaled out to see a lot and then as you approach Earth, the camera zooms in and gives you less and less reaction time (running out of *camera space*) but overall pretty good :) I kind of enjoyed going down instead of up, I really did feel like I was getting ready to come in for a landing, but I can see how it can be a bit disorienting.

nice first. Like others have said plus some simple additional effects could make this better.

Neat little game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/VePoszPJyYA
