neat game. the music and sounds are great.
I liked it
The game looks okay and I particularly likes the sound. The gameplay is quite too slow for me
I liked the idea, but the was a bit too slow, and the navigation was hard. Different color for the enemy could be useful.
This looks like it would be fun, I just simply cannot find out how to move troops. I click "set destination" then click on another planet or out in space or w/e... nothing happens.
@belowparallel-ian If you click move you are moving your units already. The set destination button sets the destination to the planet you are on. This means if you click the "set destination" button on the planet you made them nothing will happen. If you want to attack or colonize you don't have to set a destination, but just to click on move ( how often depends on how many units you want to move ), click on a planet and than attack him (if he is an enemy's colony) or colonize him (if he is a planet without colony). With the set destination button you can move units from one colony to another (the destination buttons sets the destination planet). Quite confusing system I know sorry. Hope you can now play the game.
Great graphics and the audio really helps you get into the game.
You clearly put a lot of effort into this entry! The graphics were weirdly cute and the UI design is really cool! Great job!
Woah I can only imagine the effort you two put into this. I loved the music too, fits the mood perfectly. For using Unity first time, this is really well done.
The game seems fun, and I really like the music, but I can't really play it because the UI has some problems. Look at these images and you should see what the problem is. Hopefully you will fix it soon :).

Reminds me of Master of Orion. You should add a tutorial I was lost for quite a while.
Thank you all for your feedback. @luca1152 Yeah the UI is broken when you play on a too small resolution. This is why I recommend to play in fullscreen. The problem is that the font doesn't scale with the resolution and the icons, too. :c I will fix it in the after ld version. @josehzz There is actually a tutorial ingame. You can read it by clicking in the menu on the third button from the top. There everything is explained. Also some people get confused with the "set destination" button. It sets the destination of all moving units to the planet you are clicking the button on. I hope I could help you :)
@drskort Oh, right. I did not see that you recommended fullscreen, neither have I thought about making it fullscreen :).
Umm, I think we had the same idea lmao https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/we-need-space
@bigjigglyproductions wow seems so :D
that is a loot of work for the time constraints, congratulations.
Good job though, I noticed our gas planet textures are very similar, I knew I should've made more but the compo ended :joy:
@samueldeboni Thank you very much ^^ @bigjigglyproductions thanks, your game looks pretty good :) Also you seem to have pretty good balancing in your game. My balancing (especially on the population growth) is very poorly made :c Because of this I also removed it as a factor for the production and food. When my friend was doing the planets he got inspired by pictures he found on the internet :D One gas giant is just jupiter :D And we also had more time, because we did the jam
I published it with 8 minutes of the Compo left, right after it was done I got a great idea for new gameplay mechanics but no time to implement them.
I got my inspiriation from Saturn :joy:
Very ambitious idea that reminds me of some old computer games I played back in the day. A few of the UI quirks made things a little harder to understand then they should have been.
@lumpy thank you very much for playing it and for the feedback ^^
This is a really nice entry, well done! I'm always happy to see strategy games at game jams. The idea is really cool and the visuals do just enough for it to shine. The background music fits really well and helps create just the right mood, in which one can spend a long time enjoying the game.
One gripe I have with the game is that the UI makes it somewhat difficult to keep track of where exactly your units are, since the player needs to select a planet to see how many settlers and soldiers they have there. It would be nice, for example, to have two small icons with numbers displayed next to each planet, so that the player could figure out where their units are at a glance. Also maybe highlighting the current colonization or attack destinations with lines or arrows might help to get a good picture of one's troops' movements more easily.
All in all, I think you have every reason to be proud of the work you've done. Good job!
Thank you very much for your comment @terrapass The UI is a bit messed up and I hope to fix that in future updates. Also these are very good suggestions ^^ I'm glad you enjoyed my game and really want to thank you for your detailed feedback.
This was your first time using Unity? That's crazy impressive! This was a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing the game with my stream awhile back. Your game starts at around 5:47 into the vod https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297479036
